6,0 <br /> <br />Report re: <br />Delinquent & <br />Erroneous Taxes <br />1977 <br /> <br /> Mr. Albro stated that he .feels that for this program to get <br />underway it will need some lead time and he does not feel it would <br />make a whole lot of difference where the headquarters will be <br />and it is not clear to him how available the Bicentennial Center <br />will be and he does not think that being there in the beginning <br />would have much benefit. <br /> A motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Buck that the <br />first choice for the location of the Tourist Bureau be the <br />Bicentennial Center and the second choice location be at the <br />Chamber offices for a period of no more than one year, was <br />adopted by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Brunton, Mr. Buck <br />and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: Mr. Albro and Mr. Gatewood. <br /> ~ne following report was presented and on motion by Mr. <br /> Gatewood, seconded by Mr. Buck the recommendations contained <br /> therein were unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> May 24, 1979 <br /> <br />Members of City Council <br /> <br />Charlottesville, Virginia <br /> <br />Dear Councillors: <br /> <br />Resolution re: <br />Welcoming Ralph <br />Sampson to <br />Charlottesville <br /> <br /> We have examined the Treasurer's list of 1977 Delinquent <br />and Erroneous Taxes, dated December 31, 1978 in the amounts of <br /> <br />$318,795.86 and $27,763.41 for 1977. <br /> The~erroneous taxes reflect the assessments abated by the <br />Board of Equ±lizatiQn for real estate and on property acquired by <br />Government Agencies on which no taxes are assessable and duplicate <br /> <br />assessments on Personal Property. <br /> <br /> We recommend that the Wist be aGcepted, that the,~erroneous .taxes <br />he chaCged off and that the City Treasurer be instructed to <br /> <br />continue to collect the delinquent taxes. <br /> <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> Edwin E.
