2'79 Ordinance re: Closing and vacating portion of Rougemont Avenue and alley west of Avon Street Other business Executive session Special session carried over to the next meeting for consideration. On motion by Mr. Albro, seconded by Mrs. O'Brien, an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING AND DISCONTINUING THAT UNOPENED PORTION OF ROUGEMONT AVENUE BETWEEN AVON STREET AND 6TH STREET, S,E., AND AN ALLEY WEST OF AVON STREET BETWEEN PALATINE AND ROUGEMONT AVENUES" was offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. Mr. Gate~ood reported that the Finance Committee, of which he is chairman, recon~n~ended that the Treasurer,s lists of 1978 Delinquent and Erroneous Taxes be accepted, that the erroneous taxes be charged off and the City Treasurer be instructed to continue to collect delinquent taxes. On motion by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mr. Albro, the recommendation of the Finance Committee was unanimously approved. Mrs. O'Brien stated that at the last County Planning Commission meeting, two Plans were considered that are in the drainage area not protected in these matters. She requested that City staff notify Council of changes of property in the watershed area so Council can decide whether to respond. She further requested that staff investigate the two site plans that will come before the Board of Supervisors on June 11. Mr. Cole Hendrix, City Manager, requested that Council authorize the release of an additional $4,000 from the Economic Development budget for the Zuchelli, Hunter and Associates contract on the Vinegar Hill hotel/conference cneter development. On motion by Mrs O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Gatewood, Council unanimously approved the request. On motion by Mr. Buck, seconded by Mr. Albro, Council unanimously agreed to meet in.executive session this evening and Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. to discuss matters exempted under Section 2.1-344(a)(1).~P~rsonnel) and Section 2.1-344(a)(6)(Legal) of the Virginia Freedom of Information On motion the meeting adjourned.
