JAUNT has been <br />awaiting for over a year. JAUNT requires $5,000 for each month <br />of June and july to carry them through the time when the Section 18 <br />funds are available. On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Buck, <br />the appropriation of $10,000 for JAUNT was offered and carried over <br />to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br />SECTION 24-2 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS <br />AMENDED, RELATING TO THE CALCULATION OF SEWER SERVICE CHARGES" <br />which was offered~._at the meeting of Council on June 2, 1980, <br />was adopted by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Albro, Mr. Br~unton, <br />Mr. Buck, Mr. Gatewood, Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING AND <br />DISCONTINUING THAT UNOPENED PORTION OF ROUGEMONT AVENUE BETWEEN <br />AVON STREET AND 6TH STREET, S.E., AND AN ALLEY WEST OF AVON <br />STREET BETWEEN PALATINE AND ROUGEMONT AVENUESU which was offered <br />at the meeting of Council on June 2, 1980, washed,adopted by the <br />following vote. Ayes: Mr. Albro, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Buck, Mr. <br />Gatewood, Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Albro, an <br /> <br /> ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING AND DISCONTINUING <br /> THAT UNOPENED PORTION OF FENDALL TERRACE" was offered and carried <br /> over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Buck, Council <br /> <br /> denied an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING <br /> THE DISTRICT MAP INCORPORATED IN SECTION 31-4 OF THE ZONING <br /> ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, BY THE REZONING OF <br /> A PARCEL OF LAND LOCATED ON EAST JEFFERSON STREET IN THE CITY <br /> OF CHARLOTTESVILLE" by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Albro, <br /> Mr, Brunton, Mr. Buck, Mr. Gatewood, Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING THE <br /> DISTRICT MAP INCORPORATED IN SECTION 31-4 OF THE ZONING <br /> ORDINANCE OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, BY <br /> THE REZONING OF A PARCEL OF LAND LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF <br /> HYDRAULIC ROAD AND MICHIE DRIVE IN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE" <br /> was presented for Council's consideration. Mr. Gatewood abstained <br /> from the discussion and vote due to a conflict of interest. Mrs. <br /> O'Brien made a motion to deny the ordinance and Mr. Brunton seconded <br /> the motion. Mr. Buck stated that he did not feel comfortable <br /> voting to deny since this ordinance originated nearly a year ago <br /> and he does not r~member enough about it to make an informed decision. <br /> Mrs. O'Brien' s motion was defeated by the following vote. Ayes: <br /> Mrs. O'Brien, Mr. Brunton. Noes: Mr. Buck, Mr. Albro. Abstaining: <br /> Mr. Gatewood. Mrs. O'Brien then pointed out that if the ordinance <br /> were put to a motion for approval, it would fail due to a tie vote. <br /> If the ordinance were denied or tabled, the applicant would have <br /> to go through the process of reapplying again since a~ new Council <br /> will be seated soon and those Council members had not been present <br /> <br /> <br />
