Resolution re: Authorizing close-out of"~Garmett Street Resolution re: Declaring City eligible for conservation pursuant to Section 36-49.1 of Virginia Code Joint public hearing with Planning Co~=~ mission re: rezoning petitions On motion by Mr. Conover, seconded by Mr. Albro, Council WHEREAS, hy resoluti~on adopted October 6, 1969, Cit'y Council approved the Redevelopment Plan for the Garrett Street Project No. Va. R~44; and ~' ' WHEREAS a Cooperation Agreement dated October 6, 1969, as amended, between the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority and tha 'City provided for the Authority to carry out the execution of the Garrett Street Project; and WHEREAS it is now considered desirable for the City and the Authority to effeCt a financial settlement of the project with tha Department of Housing and Urban Development; and WHEREAS a CloseeOut Agreement for the Garrett Street Project, No. Va. R~44, has 'heen prepared and considered- no.w~ therefore be it ' RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that the Close-Out Agreement between the City of Charlottesville and the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority dated August 12, 1980, for the financial settlement of the Garrett Street Project, No, Va. R~44, is hereby in all respects approved subject, to the concurrence of the Department of Housing and Urban Development; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and Clerk of Council are hereby authorized to execute the Close-Out Agreement on behalf of the City of Charlottesville. On motion by Mr. Conover, seconded by Mr. Albro, Council unanimously adopted the following resolution: WHEREAS it appears to the Council o~ the City of Charlottes- Ville, Virginia, that a portion of the C%ty of Charlottesville described in Exhibit A attached to this resolution and incorporated herein by reference (the "conservation area") is deteriorating and may be eligible for conservation as provided by Section 36-49 1 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as a~ended; an~ ' WHEREAS it is in the public interest that the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority (the "Authority~') prepare a plan for the conservation thereof; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by' the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that the conservation area is deteriorating and may be eligible for conservation am p~ovided by Section 36-49.1 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council tha~ the Authority is hereby authorized and directed to prepare a plah for the conservation area in order to undertake and carrY out a conservation project in accordance with Section 36-49.1 of the CQde of Virginia (1950), as amended, and to take-such other and further action as it may deem appropriate in connection therewith. After meeting briefly as the CharlOttesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority Board, Council joined the Planning Commission in a join~ public hearing on two rezoning petitions, the minutes of which are contained in the file in which these minutes are kept.
