333 Special session Resolution re: Authorizing mayor to sign~deed for Midway School property Regular session Approval of minutes Presentation re: VML award for Therapeutic Re.creat~on~Program Matters by the public McGuffey Art Center TWIN BRIDGES MARRIOTT, ARLINGTON - SEPT. 29, 1980 Council met on this date in special session with the following members prea:ent: Mr. Buck, Mr. ConOver, Ms. Gleason, Dr. Hall. Absent: Mr. Albro. On motion hy Dr, Hall, seconded by Ms. Gleason, Council unanimously adopted the following reSolution: BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City ~ Charlottesville that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute behalf of the City the following document, in form approved by the City Attorney: o'f Deed of Bargain and Sale to convey~to Midway Maner~-Associanes property known as Parcel 93 on City Real Property Tax Map Sh~.et 28, as~further shown and described on the attached plat of aur~ey prepared by Arthur F. Edwards, CLS, dated September 5, 198Q A Copy of such, document shall be kept on fi%e with the minutes the Coimcil meeting at which th~s resolution Was adopted. Absent: None. rOBER 6, 1980 with the following ~, Ms. Gleason, On motion by Mr. Conover, seconded by Dr. Hall, the minutes of the meeting of September 15 were unanimously approved as amended. On motion by-Ms. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Conove: , the minutes of September 17 were unanimously approved as presen'ed. On motion by Mr~ Albro, seconded'by Mr, Conover, the minut s of September 22 were unanimously approved with amendments, Dr. H ~11 abstaining. It was agreed hy common consent to hold the minus:es of September 29 for approval at the next regular meeting. Mayor Buck presented the Virginia Municipal League award received by the City at the recent VML conventio to Mr. Gene.~ German, Director of Parks & Recreation, and tom Recreation Director, for the City's Therapeutic and commended them on the excellence of the prog Charlottesville was one of ~only 12~communities ir receive such an-~:award. Mr. German thanked the M~ recogniCion and commended Ms. Spicer's'role in tl success, as well as other individuals who contrit Ms. Ashtin Smith, Chairman of the Community COmmittee of the McGuffey Art Association, prese~ community relations report and introduced the ne~ Ms. Shirley Hammond, preSident; Ms. Lacey Evans, Ms, Maccrae Kudravetz, SeCretary; and Ms. Deborah Ms, Hammond presented the five year financial report to Council. Ms, Smitk stated tha~ the center was celebrating its fifth anniversary with a Birthday Show and Birthday Party and invited the public to participate in the celebrations.
