333 <br /> <br />Special session <br /> <br />Resolution re: <br />Authorizing mayor <br />to sign~deed for <br />Midway School <br />property <br /> <br />Regular session <br /> <br />Approval of minutes <br /> <br />Presentation re: <br />VML award for <br />Therapeutic <br />Re.creat~on~Program <br /> <br />Matters by the public <br />McGuffey Art Center <br /> <br />TWIN BRIDGES MARRIOTT, ARLINGTON - SEPT. 29, 1980 <br /> <br />Council met on this date in special session with the following <br /> <br />members prea:ent: Mr. Buck, Mr. ConOver, Ms. Gleason, Dr. Hall. <br /> <br />Absent: Mr. Albro. <br /> <br />On motion hy Dr, Hall, seconded by Ms. Gleason, Council unanimously <br /> <br />adopted the following reSolution: <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City ~ Charlottesville <br />that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute behalf of the City <br />the following document, in form approved by the City Attorney: <br /> <br />o'f <br /> <br />Deed of Bargain and Sale to convey~to Midway Maner~-Associanes <br />property known as Parcel 93 on City Real Property Tax Map <br />Sh~.et 28, as~further shown and described on the attached plat <br />of aur~ey prepared by Arthur F. Absent: None. <br /> <br />rOBER 6, 1980 <br />with the following <br />~, Ms. Gleason, <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Conover, seconded by Dr. Hall, the minutes of <br /> the meeting of September 15 were unanimously approved as amended. <br /> On motion by-Ms. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Conove: , the minutes of <br /> September 17 were unanimously approved as presen'ed. On motion <br /> by Mr~ Albro, seconded'by Mr, Conover, the minut s of September 22 <br /> were unanimously approved with amendments, Dr. H ~11 abstaining. <br /> It was agreed hy common consent to hold the minus:es of September <br /> 29 for approval at the next regular meeting. <br /> <br /> Mayor Buck presented the Virginia Municipal League award <br />received by the City at the recent VML conventio to Mr. Gene.~ <br />German, Director of Parks & Recreation, and tom <br />Recreation Director, for the City's Therapeutic <br />and commended them on the excellence of the prog <br />Charlottesville was one of ~only 12~communities ir <br />receive such an-~:award. Mr. German thanked the M~ <br />recogniCion and commended Ms. Spicer's'role in tl <br />success, as well as other individuals who contrit <br /> <br /> Ms. Ashtin Smith, Chairman of the Community <br /> <br />COmmittee of the McGuffey Art Association, prese~ <br />community relations report and introduced the ne~ <br />Ms. Shirley Hammond, preSident; Ms. Lacey Evans, <br />Ms, Maccrae Kudravetz, SeCretary; and Ms. Deborah <br /> <br />Ms, Hammond presented the five year financial report to Council. <br /> <br />Ms, Smitk stated tha~ the center was celebrating its fifth anniversary <br />with a Birthday Show and Birthday Party and invited the public to <br />participate in the celebrations. <br /> <br /> Mildred Spicer, <br />~ecreation Program <br />· am, stating that <br /> <br /> Virginia to <br /> <br /> ~or for the <br /> <br />.e program's <br />uted to it. <br />Relations <br />ted the Association's <br /> <br /> officers: <br /> <br />1st Vice President; <br /> <br /> Lingon, Treasurer. <br /> <br /> <br />
