Buck (signed) COUNCIL CHAMBER - MONDAY, DECEMBER 15, 1980 Council met in special session on this date with .the following members present: Mr. Albro, Mr. Buck, Mr. Conover, Ms. Gleason, Dr. Hall. Absent: None. On motion by Mr. Albro, seconded by Mr. Conover, Council unanimously agreed to meet in executive session to discuss matters exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)(1)(Personnel) of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. Following the executive session, Council met in the Council Chamber for the regular meeting. On motion by Ms. Gleason, seconded by Dr. Hall, the minutes of December 1 were unanimously approved as presented. On motion by Mr. Conover, seconded by Ms. Gleason, the minutes of December 8 were unanimously approved as presented. On motion by Mr. Conover, seconded by Mr. Albro, the minutes of December 10 were unanimously approved with amendment. Ms. Peggy King, president of the League of Women Voters, presented to Council the League's latest revision of the "Guide to Local Government in Charlottesville and Albemarle County." The 56 page booklet explains the structure and function of the two governments in a comparative format and have been made available gratis to area libraries and schools. Additional copies of the booklet are available to the public at local book stores and through the League at $2.00 per copy. Mayor Buck thanked the League for this valuable public service. On nomination by Mr. Conover, Mr. Steven Nock and Ms. Dianne Martin were unanimously appointed to the Social Development Commission.
