Ordinance re: Amending Sections 2-129 and 2-133 relating to the Charlottesville Development Group (2nd reading) ResOlution re: Authorizing mayor to sign easement for sanitary sewer line Other business re: PVCC softball field Other business re: Old fairgrounds development Executive session The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTIONS 2-129 AND 2~133 OF T~ CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, %976, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE CHARLOTTESVILLE DEVELOPMENT GR0~" which was of£ered at the meeting of March 2, 1981, was adopted by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Albro~ Mr. Buck, Mr. Conover~ Mar Gleason, Dr, Hall. Noes: None. On motion by Mr. Conover, seconded by Ms. Gleason, Council unanimously adopted the following resolution: BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that themayor is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City the~ollowing document, in form approved by the City Attorney: Deed between the City of Charlottesville and Willie Shelton and Catherine SheIton for an easement and right-of-way across a portiontol Booker T. Washington Park for a sanitary sewer §~mvice 'line for the benefit of Parcel 9.0.1 on City Real Property Tax Map 3. A copy of such document shall be kept on file with the minutes of the Council meeting at which this resolution was adopted. In answer to Mr. Conover~s inquiry, Mr. Hendrix said that the PVCC softball field project will be delayed 60-90 days as the contractor cannot install the lights before that time. The County has thm item of sharing the cost of these improvements on its agenda for its next meeting. Mayor Buck read aletter stating that the developer who was previously interes~ted in buying a portion of the old fairgrounds to build a motel has now withdrawn from the project as it appears that the 2.5 acres that Council was willing to consider selling would not be ~uitable for the project. On motion by Ms~ Gleason, seconded by Dr. Hall, Council unanimously agreed to meet in executive session to discuss matters exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)(2)(Property) and (6)(Legal) of the Virginia Freedom of Informatie Act.
