452

Matters by the public

Other business

Executive session

Ms. Kay Peaslee, editor of the Charlottesville Observer,
asked that Council consider publishing proposed amendments to
the City Code so that the general public would know what
changes were taking place in the City's laws. She also
requested that City Council agendas be published in whole
preceding each meeting. Mayor Buck responded that the cost
of advertising Qrdinance amendments would be prohibitive
and that most citizens would most likely not benefit from
it. He said the major items on the agenda for most meetings
were effectively covered by the news media before ~each
meeting. Mr. Conover said that he continued to be interested
in the idea of flashing the agenda on the TV screen during
meetings so that home viewers could know what items were coming

up. He said he would welcome ideas on howa~this~might be done.

Mr. Hendrix asked the Council to meet with the Charlottesville

Development Group and City staff at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June
8, to hear a proposal by the Vinegar Hill developers. Council
agreed to the meeting.

On motion by Ms. Gleason, seconded.by Mr. Conover, Council
unanimously agreed to meet in executive-session to discuss
matters exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)(1)(Personnel) and (6)
(Legal) of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act.

our ed.
On motion the meeting adj ~~ ~

Special session

Exe~cutive session

TAKE .NOTICE

A special meeting of Council will be held Monday

evening the 8th of June inst, at 7:30 p.m. o'clock.

}~AYOR' S OFFICE

Executive session to discuss matters exempted by Section
2.1-344(a)(1) (Personnel) of the Virginia Freedom of Information
Act.

BY NOTICE OF

Ka~hle.en Roletter (s'i~ned) Francis L.
