Appropriation re: <br />$2,123 - R.'S.V.P. <br />Program _ <br /> <br />Apprbpriation re: <br />Tax Refund - $38.68 <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />,$1,400-City Code <br />Supplements <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Year-end departmental <br />appropriation <br /> <br />Resolution re: <br />Federal Flood <br />Insurance Program <br /> <br /> The resolution appropriating $2,123 for R. S. V. P. Program, <br /> <br />which was of-fered at the meeting of the Council on June 2, 1975, <br />was adoPted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. <br />Fife, Mr. Gilliam, Mrs.. Rinehart and Mr. Van Yahres. Noes: None. <br /> ~On motion by Mr. Gilliam, seconded by Mrs. Rinehart the following <br />resolution was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. <br />Barbour, _Mr. Fife, Mr. Gilliam, Mrs. Rinehart and Mr. Van Yahres. Noes: <br /> <br />None. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED 'by the Council of the City of Charlottesville <br />that $30,68 be and the same is hereby appropriated for refund of <br />erroneous tax assessments as follows: Roy C. and Virginia M. Haney, <br />$3.84; Raymond C and Almenda Heidloff, $4.80; Ertle and June T. <br />Thompson, $7.66; David W. and Penelope F. Weiss, $9,58; Marion <br />Gordon Shaw, Trustee, $1.92; and Dr. Anita Lotti, $2.88. <br /> On motion by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded by Mr. Van Yahres the following <br />resolution was offered and carried over to the next meeting <br /> <br />for consideration. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville <br />that $1,400 be and the same is hereby appropriated from the General <br />Fund for City Code Supplements. <br /> On motion by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded by Mr. Van Yahres the <br />following resolution was offered and carried over to the next meeting <br /> <br />for consideration. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville <br />that $29,369.98 from the General Fund, $127,000 from the Sewer Fund, <br />$259,000 from the Gas Fund and $29,075.34 from the Capital Fund be <br />and the same is hereby appropriated to cover over-expended accounts <br />in the 1974-75 fiscal year budget. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Gilliam, seconded by Mrs. Rinehart the following <br /> <br />resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, certain areas of the City of Charlottesville are <br />subject to periodic flooding from major streams and tributaries <br />causing serious damage to p=operties within these areas; and <br /> WHEREAS, relief is available in the form of flood insurance <br />as authorized by the National Flood Insurnance Act of 1968, as <br />amended; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is the intent of this Council to comply with <br />land use and management criteria regulations as required in said <br />act; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is also the intent of this Council to recognize <br />the duly evaluate flood and/or mudslide hazards in all official <br />actions relating to land use in the flood plain and/or mudslide <br />areas having-special flood and/or mudslide hazards; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 15.1-468 et. seq. of the Code of Virginia <br /> (1950) as amended, authorizes this Council to adopt land use and <br /> control measures, <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Council hereby <br /> assures the Federal Insurance Administration that it: <br /> (1) Designates the Superintendent of Inspections as the <br /> building official with the responsibility, authority and means to: <br /> ~ . <br /> (a) Delineate or assiSt the Admznzstrator, at <br /> his request, in delineating the limits of the areas having special <br /> flood or mudslide hazards on available local maps of sufficient <br /> scale to identify the location of building sites. <br /> <br /> (b) Provide such information as the Administrator <br /> may request concerning present uses and occupancy of the flood <br /> plain or mudslide area. <br /> <br /> (c). Maintain for public inspection and furnishing <br /> upon request, with respect to each area having special flood hazards, <br /> information or-elevations (in relation to mean sea level) of the <br /> lowest floors of all new or substantially improved structures; and <br /> <br /> <br />
