Ordinance re: <br />18=33.2 - <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />Ordinance re: <br />Chapter 10.i <br />Containing - <br />Sections 10.1-1 - <br />10.1-15 <br /> <br />Communication re: <br />Rezoning request: <br />2708 McElroy Dr. - <br />denied <br /> <br />~_onsent agreement <br />for Jefferson Cable <br />Corporation - <br />deferred - June 23, <br />1975 <br /> <br />Appointment re: <br />Tom Branham - Acting <br />City Assessor <br /> <br />Executive Session <br /> <br /> An ordinance en~ti~led "'AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF <br /> <br /> THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1965, BY ADDING A SECTION NUMBERED <br /> 18-33.2 TO PROHIBIT THE OPERATION OF MOTORCYCLES IN CEMETERIES, <br /> PARKS AND ON PUBLIC SCHOOL PROPERTY AND TO PROVIDE FOR A PENALTY," <br /> which was offered at the meeting of the Council on June 2, 1975, <br /> was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr Barbour, <br /> <br /> Mr. Fife, Mr. Gilliam, Mrs. Rinehart and Mr Van Yahres Noes: None <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE <br /> <br /> CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1965, AS AMENDED BY ADDING A CHAPTER <br /> <br /> NUMBERED 10.1 CONTAINING SECTIONS 10.1-1 THROUGH 10.1-15 RELATING <br /> <br /> TO EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL, APPROVAL OF PLANS AND PROVIDING FOR <br /> A PENALTY," which was offered at the meeting of the Council on June <br /> 2, 1975, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. <br /> Barbour~, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gilliam, Mrs. Rinehart and Mr. Van Yahres. Noes: <br /> None. <br /> <br /> A communication was presented from the Planning Commission recommending <br /> that the request to rezone property located a 2708 McElroy Drive <br /> from R-1 to R-2 be denied. On motion by Mr. Gilliam, seconded by <br /> Mr. Van Yahres the recommendation of the Planning Commission was <br /> unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> 'A resolution of consent to the assignment to the Jefferson <br /> <br />Cable Corporation Contract to the Mansfield Journal Company-was <br />considered. Mr. Fred Landess, attorney for the Mansfield Journal <br />Company addressed the Council and stated that the parties to the sale <br />had held a meeting to work out the details of the transfer, at which <br />time the purchaser thought it would be more advantageous tO purchase <br />the assets rather than purchase the stock of Jefferson Cable <br />Corporation. He stated that he could not see that iQ would make <br />any difference to the City which method is used since the difference <br />is basically the tax benefit to Mansfield Journal Company. After <br />discussion, on motion by Mr. Van Yahres, seconded by Mrs. Rinehart, <br />action was deferred 'to June 23, 1975. <br /> <br /> On motinn by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded by Mr. Van Yahres, Mr. <br /> <br />Tom Branham, was appointed acting City Assessor until the position <br /> <br />is filled. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mrs. Rinehart the Council voted <br /> <br />to go into executive session to discuss personnel, land acquisition and <br />for consultation with legal counsel, by the following recorded vote. <br />Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gilliam, Mrs. Rinehart and Mr. <br />Van Yahres. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> On motion hy Mr. Van Yahres, seconded by Mrs. Rinehart the meeting <br />adjourned until June 23, 1975 at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br /> <br />
