Ordinance re: 18=33.2 - Section Ordinance re: Chapter 10.i Containing - Sections 10.1-1 - 10.1-15 Communication re: Rezoning request: 2708 McElroy Dr. - denied ~_onsent agreement for Jefferson Cable Corporation - deferred - June 23, 1975 Appointment re: Tom Branham - Acting City Assessor Executive Session An ordinance en~ti~led "'AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1965, BY ADDING A SECTION NUMBERED 18-33.2 TO PROHIBIT THE OPERATION OF MOTORCYCLES IN CEMETERIES, PARKS AND ON PUBLIC SCHOOL PROPERTY AND TO PROVIDE FOR A PENALTY," which was offered at the meeting of the Council on June 2, 1975, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr Barbour, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gilliam, Mrs. Rinehart and Mr Van Yahres Noes: None An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1965, AS AMENDED BY ADDING A CHAPTER NUMBERED 10.1 CONTAINING SECTIONS 10.1-1 THROUGH 10.1-15 RELATING TO EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL, APPROVAL OF PLANS AND PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY," which was offered at the meeting of the Council on June 2, 1975, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour~, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gilliam, Mrs. Rinehart and Mr. Van Yahres. Noes: None. A communication was presented from the Planning Commission recommending that the request to rezone property located a 2708 McElroy Drive from R-1 to R-2 be denied. On motion by Mr. Gilliam, seconded by Mr. Van Yahres the recommendation of the Planning Commission was unanimously adopted. 'A resolution of consent to the assignment to the Jefferson Cable Corporation Contract to the Mansfield Journal Company-was considered. Mr. Fred Landess, attorney for the Mansfield Journal Company addressed the Council and stated that the parties to the sale had held a meeting to work out the details of the transfer, at which time the purchaser thought it would be more advantageous tO purchase the assets rather than purchase the stock of Jefferson Cable Corporation. He stated that he could not see that iQ would make any difference to the City which method is used since the difference is basically the tax benefit to Mansfield Journal Company. After discussion, on motion by Mr. Van Yahres, seconded by Mrs. Rinehart, action was deferred 'to June 23, 1975. On motinn by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded by Mr. Van Yahres, Mr. Tom Branham, was appointed acting City Assessor until the position is filled. On motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mrs. Rinehart the Council voted to go into executive session to discuss personnel, land acquisition and for consultation with legal counsel, by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gilliam, Mrs. Rinehart and Mr. Van Yahres. Noes: None. On motion hy Mr. Van Yahres, seconded by Mrs. Rinehart the meeting adjourned until June 23, 1975 at 7:30 P.M.
