83 <br /> <br />Special Session <br /> <br />Presentation re: <br />School and City <br />Budgets <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Bus Fares <br /> <br />Executive Session <br /> <br /> The Council met in special session on this date <br /> <br />with the following members present: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Fife <br />Mr. Gilliam, Mrs. Rinehart and Mr. Van Yahres. Absent: <br />None. <br /> <br /> The Rev. Henry Mitchell, Chairman of the School Board, <br />presented the proposed School Budget for 1976-77 and Mr. <br />Hendrix presented the proposed City Budget. <br /> <br /> A report was presented from the Transit Technician <br />stating that the City's approved Capital Grant Project <br />with UMTA that fare structure of thirty-five cents for a <br />one way trip and twenty cents for the elderly and the <br />handinapped is proposed. The report stated, however, <br />that there is a feeling that a increase in the fare <br />structure to this extent would result in a passenger loss <br />and recommended the fare be increased to thirty cents <br />rather than the planned thirty-five cents and the twenty <br />cent fare for the ~lderly and handicapped be maintained. <br />An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH FARES <br />FOR THE CITY TRANSIT SYSTEM" was offered by Mr. Gilliam, <br />seconded by Mr. Fife and carried over to a public hearing <br />to be held on March 29, 1976 at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Van Yahres, seconded by Mrs. Rinehart <br />the Council voted to go into executive session to discuss <br />personnel, by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, <br />Mrs. Rinehart and Mr, Van Yahres. Noes: Mr. Fife and <br />Mr. Gilliam. <br /> <br /> On motion the meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />Special meeting <br /> <br />COUNCIL CHAMBER - MONDAY, MARCH 29, 1976 <br /> <br />Pursuant to the following call: <br /> <br />Mr. Charles L.
