Appropriation re: $12,500 for Bicentennial Information Center Resolution re: Bingo Permit for Laura Rebekah Lodge No. 26 Resolution re: Appointing viewers - Deadend 'alley between Dale Avenue and Pres ton Avenue Acceptance of 'Bid re: Washington Park Basket- ball Courts (~) surrender his permit or permits for a partial refund. The refund shall be one-half the original price if surrendered before November 1, one-third between November 1 and February 1, or no refund after February 1. The person surrendering the permits shall be either case show identification sufficient to establish himself as the person, or the representative of the person, who originally acquired the permits. On motion by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded by Mr. Van Yahres the foregoing recommendation was unanimously adopted. The resolution appropriating $12,500 for operating funds for the Bicentennial Information Center, which was offered at the meeting of the Council on May 3, 1976, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gilliam, Mrs. Rinehart~and Mr. Van Yahres. Noes: None. On motion by Mr. Van Yahres, seconded by Mr. Fife the following resolution was unanimously adopted. WHEREAS, Laura Rebekah Lodge No. 26 haa duly applied for a permit to conduct bingo parties in compliance with Section 19-36 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1965, as amended; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that Laura Rebekah Lodge No. 26~meeting the qualification as out- lined in Section 19-36; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that a permit be granted to Laura Rebekah Lodge No. 26 to conduct bingo parties in accordance with all the provisions of Section 19-36 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville for a period of one year from the date is this resolution; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Council be directed to send a copy of this resolution to the Secretary of Laura Rebekah Lodge No. 26. On motion by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded by Mr. Gilliam the following resotu~is~was unanimously adopted. A RESOLUTION appointing viewers to consider a request for the vacation of a portion of that deadend alley lying between and parallel with Dale Avenue and Preston Avenue. WHEREAS, this Council has received a petition requesting vacation of a portion of that deahend alley lying between and parallel with Dale Avenue and Preston Avenue; and WHEREAS, it appears to Council that the notices required by Section 15.1-364 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, have been duly posted; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Messrs. J. P. Borden, Mason S. Byrd and H. P. Winn~report in writing to Council what inconvenience, if any, would result from such vacation. The City Manager advised the Council that the City received bids on May 4th for the construction of two basketball courts, with a five foot walkway around the court at Washington Park. He stated that the only bid received was from S. L. Williamson Company for $11,950
