O'Brien (signed) <br /> Clerk President <br /> <br />ResOlution re: <br />Establishing Council_'s <br />Priorities regarding <br />sewer connections to <br />MoOres Creek Sewage <br />Treatment Plant <br /> <br />The Council met in special session on this date <br /> <br />with the following members present: Mr. Barbour, Mr. <br />Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. <br /> <br />Absent: None. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mr. Barbour <br /> <br />the following resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has with great reluctance <br />imposed a moratorium on connections to the sanitary sewer <br />system flowing into the Moore's Creek Sewage Treatment <br />Plant; until such time as the Rivanna Water and Sewer <br />Authority advises that such treatment plant has sufficient <br />capacity available lawfully to permit new connections <br />to such system; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council realizes the potentially <br />devastating effect which this action may have on efforts <br />of the Charlottesville Redevelopment and HOusing <br />Authority and other public agencies to provide new <br />sources of decent, safe and sanitary housing for low <br />and moderate income persons, on projects proposed for <br />development on city-owned property, on projects which <br />may have a significant effect on the economic <br />development of the community, and on other projects <br />and plans which may be deemed to serve the public <br />interest; and <br /> <br /> <br />
