168 <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Appropriation - $1,099 <br />Joint SecBrity Complex <br /> <br />Resolution re: <br />Rehabilitation Plan of <br />the Charlottesville <br />Redevelopment & <br />Haus ing Authority <br /> <br /> Mr.. Samuel-V. Pruitt, Jail Administrator, addressed the <br />Council and advised that at i~s regular meeting on September 9, <br />1.976 the Joint Jail Board approved the position of Ins tut ional <br />Counsellor and requested an appropriation of $1,043 as the City's <br />share of the cost of this position, for the remainder of this <br />fiscal year. He also requested an appropriation of $56.00 as <br />the City's share of the local match for a DJCP Grant for a <br />Recreation Supervisor. On motion by Mr. Gatewood, seconded <br />by ~Xir. Fife, the following re~olution was offered and <br />carried over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the.::Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that $1,099 be and the same is hereby appropriated <br />from the General Fund for the City's share of the <br />aforementioned positions. <br /> <br /> The resolution approving amendments to the Rehabilitation <br />Plan 6f the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing <br />Authority, initially considered at a Public Hearing on <br /> <br /> June 21, 1976, was offered by Mr. Gatewood, and seconded by Mr. <br /> <br />Barbour. <br /> <br /> An amendment to delete the words "blighted, deteriorated <br /> <br />or deteriorating and qualify as" in the fourth paragraph of <br />said resolution was offered by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Gate- <br /> <br />wood, and adopted by the following recorded vote. <br />Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. 0'Brien. <br /> <br />Ayes: Mr. <br /> <br />Noes: Mr. <br /> <br />Barbour. <br /> <br />Thereafter said resolution was adopted with such amend- <br /> <br />ments, as hereinafter setforth, by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council on November 17, 197~5 approved <br />a Rehabilitation Plan proposed by the Charlottesville <br />Redevelopment and Housing Authority prescribing certain areas <br />of the City within which a program of housing, conservation <br />and rehabilitation would be instituted; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing <br />Authority now proposes certain amendments to such plan <br />previously adopted; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has, pursuant to published <br />notice, conducted a public hearing on such proposed changes <br />as required by ~36-49.1 of the Code of Virginia and has <br />determined such proposed .amendments to be in the public interest; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of <br />the City of Charlottesville that the Council has determined <br />that the expanded neighborhoods proposed to be designated as <br />project areas are eligible project areas under ~36-48.1 of the <br />Code of Virginia, as amended; and <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the other amendments <br />to the Rehabilitation Plan proposed by the Authority have <br />been duly reviewed and considered by the Council and are <br />hereby approved and the Clerk of the Council is hereby <br />directed to file a .copy of said Plan with all said amendments <br />~nd changes with the papers of this Council meeting. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Mr. Fife, and seconded by Mr. Brunton <br /> <br />that the resolution relating to the Rehabilitation Plan of the <br /> <br />Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority, adopted <br /> <br /> <br />
