174 <br /> <br />Resolution re: Appropriation <br />$1,666.67 - Resource <br />Recovery Study Co~m~. <br /> <br />ResolutiOn re: Appropriation <br />Supplemental appropriations <br />to close out 1975-76 Fiscal <br />Year <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Barbour the <br />following resolution was offered and carried over to the next <br />meeting for consideration. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that $16,666.67 be and the same is hereby <br />appropriated, from the general fund, for the City's share of <br />Matching funds for the Resource Study Commission. <br /> On motion by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Brunton the <br /> following resolution was offered and carried over to the next <br /> <br />meeting for consideration~ <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that $243 , 980. 00 be and the same is hereby <br />appropriated from the 1975-76 fund balances as follows: <br />$58,140.00 from the general fund, $163,135.00 from the sewer <br />fund, and $22,705.00 from the capital fund, for over expended <br />accounts in the 1975-76 budget year end budget adjustments. <br /> <br /> A motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Gatewood to carry <br />appropriations from 1975-76 fiscal year to 1976-77 fiscal year <br />was approved as requested in the report from the Director of <br />Finance dated October 15, 1976 and on file with the minutes of <br /> <br />Discussion re: <br />Street <br /> <br />Alb emar 1 e <br /> <br />this meeting. <br /> <br /> The construction of Albemarle Street from Preston Avenue <br />was again discussed. Mr. Brunton stated that after viewing <br />the street he thinks that if the street is open it would create <br />a hazard and would be better to construct a cul-de-sac and steps <br /> <br />down to Preston Avenue. <br /> <br /> Rev. R. A. Johnson,~-:Mr. William Johnson and Mr. Weldon <br />Showalter addressed the~ICouncil in support of opening the street <br />one way. Mr. Barbour requested that a traffic count be made <br />of Albemarle Street and West Street before a decision is <br /> <br />Resolution re: Appropriation <br />$30,000 - Albemarle Street <br /> <br />made. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Fife the <br />following resolution was offered and carried over to the next <br /> <br />Resolution re: Social <br />Development Commission <br /> <br />meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> BE tT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that $30,000.00 be and the same is hereby <br />appropriated from the general fund for improvements to <br />Albemarle Street. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Barb*our, seconded by Mr. Fife the following <br /> <br />resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council on March 11, 1974 and June 28, <br />1976 adopted resolutions establishing a procedure for the <br />selection of persons to be appointed to the Social Development <br />Commission; and <br /> WHEREAS,- thiS' ~ouncil now finds it desirable to <br />provide increased flexibility in such selection procedure, while <br />still giving due consideration to the interests represented in <br />such process; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Charlottesville that the aforesaid resolutions <br />adopted March 11, 1974 and June 28, 1976 are hereby repealed; and <br /> <br /> <br />
