O'Brien (signed) <br /> Clerk President <br /> <br />Special meeting <br /> <br />Dis cus sion o f <br />Special Public <br />Hearing on <br />Fashion Mall <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />ppropriat ion - <br /> 5,000 - Library <br /> <br /> The Council met in special session on this date with the <br /> following members present: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton Mr Fife, <br /> Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Absent: None. <br /> <br /> The Mayor stated that the Council has been requested to <br /> hold a second public hearing on the proposed rezoning of the <br /> property for the proposed new shopping center on Route 29 North. <br /> She stated that the Council has three alternatives; deciding not <br /> to hold a hearing; decide to hold the hearing and set the date; <br /> or conninue this meeting until after the Planning Commission <br /> meeting on December 14 to see what the Planning Commission decides <br /> to do. Mr. Barbour stated his opposition to the second hearing <br /> due to the precendent it would set. On motion by Mr. Gatewood, <br /> seconded by Mr. Barbour action was deferred unnil after Planning <br /> Commission meeting on Tuesday night. <br /> <br /> A proposal was presented from Yates and Berkeley Associates <br />for a comprehensive evaluation of the Charlottesville Post <br />Office and determination of the feasibility of converting the <br />building to Library use.
