Ordinance re: <br />Levy Ordinance <br /> <br />Annual Tax <br /> <br />B'. There is hereby appropriated from the RSVP Fund for the <br />operation of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program during <br />such fiscal year, the sum of $32,248, or the amount of revenue <br />actually received by such fund, whichever shall be the lesser <br />amount. <br /> <br />C. There is hereby appropriated from the Emergency Services <br />Fund, for the operation of the Emergency Services Program dur- <br />lng~such fiscal year, the sum of $16,000, or the amount of <br />revenue actually received by such fund whichever shall be <br />the lesser amount. <br /> <br />D. There is hereby appropriated from the Urban Observatory <br />Fund, for the operation of the Urban Observatory during such <br />fiscal year, the sum of $54,230, or the amount of revenue <br />actually received by such fund whichever shall be the <br />less amount. ' <br /> <br />E. There is hereby appropriated from the Community Attention <br />Fund, for the operation of the Boys' and Girls' Community <br />Attention Homes during such fiscal year, the sum of $365,624 <br />or the amount of revenue actually received by such funds <br />whichever shall be the less amount. <br /> <br />F. There is hereby appropriated from the Landfill Fund, for <br />the operation of the sanitary landfill during such fiscal <br />year the sum of $235,653, or the amount of revenue actually <br />received by such fund, whichever shall be the lesser, amount. <br /> <br />G. There is hereby appropriated from the Social Services <br />Fund, for the operation of the Department of Social Services <br />during such fiscal year, the sum of $1,965, 630, or the <br />amounn of revenue actually received by such fund, whichever <br />shall be the lesser amount. <br /> <br /> Each such special agency fund appropriation shall be effective <br />July 1, 1977. <br /> <br />An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH THE ANNUAL <br /> <br />TAX LEVY ON VARIOUS CLASSES OF PROPERTY FOR THE PAYMENT OF INTEREST <br /> <br />AND RETIREMENT OF THE CITY DEBT, FOR THE SUPPORT OF THE CITY <br /> <br />GOVERNMENT AND CITY SCHOOLS, AND FOR OTHER PUBLIC PURPOSES," <br /> <br />which was offered at the meeting of the Council on April 6, 1977, <br /> <br />was adopted by the following recorded vote..~ Ayes: Mr. Barbour, <br /> <br />Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. <br /> <br />On motion the meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />23..9 <br /> <br />--Clerk <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />COUNCIL CHAMBER - MONDAY, APRIL 18, 1977 <br /> <br />Regular meeting <br /> <br />Approval of minutes <br /> <br />Presentation re: Mr. <br />Paul Fishbane - Tree <br />Ordinance <br /> <br /> The Council met in regular session on this dane with the following <br />members present: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien and Mr. <br />Fife. Absent: Mr. Brunton <br /> <br /> The minuCes of the meetings of March 31st, April 4th, April 6th <br /> and April llth were approved as presented. <br /> <br /> Mr. Paul Fishbane, addressed the Council and requested that the <br />Council consider adopting a tree ordinance. He stated that several <br />specific problems which needed attention and such an ordinance would <br />be: 1. A permit requirement for work on publicly-owned trees; 2. <br />There should be a removal requirement for trees which are a nuisance <br />or otherwise endanger public property; and 3. The City should set <br />itself a replacement requirement for public trees which come down. <br /> <br />He stated that in addition this ordinance ¢'ould serve to establisnmenn <br />of a public commission for over site; establishment of complete <br />standards for trees and planting on public property and requirements <br />for tree lawn consnruction where possible.
