Consideration re: An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTION Ordinance Disability Retirement Allowances 20-29 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, Consideration re: Omdinance - certain service charges & other provisions in connection with gas, water and sewer accounts RELATING TO DISABILITY RETIREMENT ALLOWANCES," was offered by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Gatewood and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. Appointments re: Committee for making recommendations on Rivanna Reservoir Executive Session An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTIONS 12-1, 12-8, 12-11, AND 29-1 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED; TO AMEND CHAPTERS 12,24 AND 29 THEREOF BY ADDING SECTIONS 12-10.1,. 12-11.1, 24-3.1, 29-5.2 AND 29-7.1; AND TO REPEAL SECTIONS 12-9, 12~10, 24~3, 29-4 AND 29-5 OF SUCH CODE; THE AMENDED ADDED AND REPEALED SECTIONS RELATING VARIOUSLY TO CERTAIN SERVICE CHARGES AND OTHER PROVISIONS IN CONNECTION WITH GAS, WATER AND SEWER ACCOUNTS," was offered by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Fife and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. The staff recommended that the deposit be $50.00 for gas accounts which will be used for heating. On motion by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Fife the gas deposit was changed to $20.00. The staff also recommended an additional charge of $10.00 for restoring service after a meter has been removed, which has been illegally turn on. On motion by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mr. Fife this charge was changed to $30.00 for water and/or gas. On motion by Mr.Brunton, seconded by Mr. Barbour, Mr. Fife and Mr. Gatewood were appointed to represent the City on a committee for making recommendations and advising on protecting the Rivanna Reservoir. With the recommendation that the County Board of Supervisors appoint two members of their body and one staff member and one ataff member from the City and on~ from the Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority. On motion by Mr. Brunnon, seconded by Mr. Fife that Council meet in executive session to discuss a matter exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)(1), Section 2.1-344(a)(2) and Section 2.1-344(a)(6) of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. On motion the meeting adjourned. Regular meeting Approval of minutes President COUNCIL CHAMBER - MONDAY, JULY 18, 1977 The Council met in regular session on this date with the following members present: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Absent: None. The minutes of the meeting of July 5, 1977 were approved as circulated.
