Resolution Granting Special Permit for Higher Density Residential <br /> for property at Jefferson Park Avenue and Maury Avenue. <br /> <br />2. Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Solicit Bids for the <br /> Sale of a portion of the McGuffey School Site for Housing Development. <br /> <br />3. Consideration of Report Regarding the location of a proposed High <br /> Rise for Elderly Persons. <br /> <br /> WORK SESSION <br /> <br />1. Handicapped Study <br /> <br />2. O'Brien (signed) <br /> <br /> The Council met in special session on this date with the following <br />members present: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and <br />Mrs. O'Brien. Absent: None. <br /> <br /> A resolution granting a special permit for increased~.density <br />development of properties located at 2103, 2105, 2105~, 2109 and 2113 <br />Jefferson Park Avenue and 101 and 106 Maury Avenue was offered by <br />Barbour, seconded by Mr. Gatewood and defeated by the following recorded <br />vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour and Mr. Gatewood. Noes: Mr. Brunton, Mr. <br />Fife and Mrs. O'Brien. <br /> <br /> A staff report was presented stating that four developers have been <br />contacted and all four are interested in developing a proposal for <br />the construction of housing units on the McGuffey Site. The report <br />requested that a decision be made on whether units ~ill be rental or <br />for sale; the acceptable price range for the units; and a price for the <br />land. On motion by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Fife the staff was <br />instructed to take proposals for the development of the McGuffey property, <br />with for sale units. <br /> <br /> The City Manager advised the Council that a private developer is willing <br />to construct another Highrise for the Elderly and requested the Council <br />to make a decision on the location. Eight possible sites were discussed, <br />however, action was deferred until the next regular meeting of Council. <br /> <br /> A work session was held to discuss the Mayor's memo concerning <br /> <br />1977-78 budget procedures. The Mayor stated that there was some confusion <br /> <br /> <br />
