30.0 <br /> <br />BASEMENT CONFERENCE ROOM - MONDAY, NOVEMBER <br /> 14, 1977 <br /> <br />Special meeting <br /> <br />Resolution re: <br />Charter Change <br />for Housing <br />Authority <br /> <br />Executive Session <br /> <br />The Council met in special session on this date with the following <br /> <br />members present: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood <br /> <br />and Mrs. O'Brien. Absent: None. <br /> <br />A motion by Mr. Bar~bour, sedonded by M~. ~:Fife, Cole Hendrix <br /> <br />was appointed Acting Clerk, by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />A motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Brunton that unanimous <br /> <br />consent be given to the consideration of any matters which come <br /> <br />before this meeting was unanimously adopted by the following <br /> <br />recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbnur., Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. <br /> <br />Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Brunton the following <br /> <br />resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> ._ WHEREAS, there has been proposed an amendment to the <br />Charter of the City of Charlottesville which would permit the <br />City Council to designate itself as the commissioners of the <br />Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to notice duly published in The <br />Daily Progress as required by law, a public hearing has been <br />held on such proposed charter amendment on October 17, 1977; <br />now, therefore, be it <br /> <br /> RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia that such proposal to amend Chapter 384 of the Acts <br />of Assembly of 1946, which chapter provided a charter for the <br />City of CharlottesVille, by adding a section numbered 50.4 thereto, <br />is hereby endorsed and approved in the form in which presented; <br />and be it further <br /> <br /> 'RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Council be directed to <br />send a certified copy of this resolution, and of the proposed <br />charter amendment to Delegate Thomas J. Michie, with the <br />request of the Council that he introduce and support such <br />legislation in the 1978 Session of the General Assembly of <br />Virginia. <br /> <br />A motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Gatewood that <br /> <br />Council meet i~ executive session to discuss a matter exempted <br /> <br />by Section 2.1-344(a)(2) and Section 2.1-344(a)(6) of the Virginia <br /> <br />Freedom of Information Act was adopted by the following recorded <br /> <br />vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood <br /> <br />and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. <br /> <br />On motion thelmeeting adjourned. <br /> <br />Acting Clerk <br /> <br />Regular meeting <br /> <br />Appointment of <br />Acting Clerk <br /> <br />COUNCIL CHAMBER - MONDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 1977 <br /> <br /> The Council met in regular session on this date with the following <br />members present: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood <br />and Mrs. O'Brien. iAbsent: None. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Brunton, Myra Bruce <br /> <br />was appointed Acting Clerk of Council., by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> <br />
