308 <br /> <br />Appropriation re: <br />Fiscal Year close- <br />out, transfers & <br />reductions <br />(Capital Improve- <br />ments Fund) <br /> <br />01-2102 <br />01-2201 <br />01-9218 <br />01-9219 <br />01-9226 <br />01-9280 <br /> <br />Police Patrol (for radio and microfilm equipment <br />Fire Department (for radiO equipment) <br />A~counting System Implementation <br />Library F~asibility ~'tudy . <br />Boxing Program <br />Albemarle Street Improvements <br /> <br />$12,600 <br />4,273 <br />12,000 <br />3,063 <br />2,493 <br />30,000 <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Gatewood the following <br /> <br />resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottes- <br />ville that the .sums hereinafter set forth are hereby transferred <br />from expenditur, e.account 05-99980, the conteng~ncy account for building <br />repairs in the Capital Projects Fund, and reappropriated to the <br />following expenditure account i~ such fund~'for.ad~it~o~a~ costs <br />incurred in completing the projects respectively zun~ea oy <br /> <br />such accounts:- <br /> <br />05-00360 Lane High School Athletic Field <br />05-00490 McIntire Tennis Court Resurfacing <br /> <br />$ 715 <br />$ 135 <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following appropriations <br />in the Capital Projects Fund, containing funds which have been <br />determined no longer to be required to complete the projects for <br />which they were originally appropriated, be reduced by the <br /> <br />respective amounts hereinafter set forth: <br /> <br />05=00140 Information Center $ 21,898 <br />05-00160 Recreation Centers $121,914 <br />05-00210 Parking Garage $ 10,753 <br />05-00220 Public Works Headquarters $358,871 <br />05-00230 Transit - Public and School $388,199 <br />05-00270 Emmet Street $ 12,450 <br />05-00280 Fifth Street Improvements $ 73,952 <br />05-00330 High School $ 52,584 <br /> <br />Resolution re: On motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Gatewood the <br />Condemnation <br />PrOceedings - Raymond following resolution was unanimously adopted. <br />Road <br /> <br />Resolution re: <br />Columbia Gas <br />Rate Increase <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the'City of Charlottesville desires to ohtain <br />two portions of a lot identified as Parcel 50 on City Real Property <br />Tax Map 26 and located at the corner of Raymond Road and Baylor <br />Lane in order to'widen thOse streets; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the deSired portion in the northeast corner of <br />said lot is 113.39 square feet and the desired portion in the <br />northwest corner of said lot of 352.53 square feet, making a <br />total of 465.92 square feet; and <br /> <br /> WHERAS, the property is owned by Aubrey Coker or his <br />heirs, if any; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the whereabouts of Auhrey Coker and his heirs, <br />if any, are unknown and there is no way of obtaining fee simple <br />title to the desired portions of said lot except by condemnation <br />proceedings; now, therefore, be it <br /> <br /> RESOLVED by the CoUncil of the City of Charlottesville <br />that the City Attorney be and he is hereby directed to institute <br />condemnation proceedings for the acquisition of the said portions <br />of the lot owned' by Aubrey Coker or his heirs, if any, whose <br />whereabouts are Unknown and to file the necessary documents with <br />the Circuit Court of the City of Charlottesville as provided in <br />§33.1-89 et seq., §15..1-~899 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as <br />amended, and ~40 and 50.1 of the Charter of the City of <br />Charlottesville. <br /> <br />On motion ~by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Brunton the following <br /> <br />resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Columbia Gas Transmission Corporation on <br />November 30, 1977, filed an application with the Federal Energy <br />Regulatory Commission for an annual increase of $67.1 million <br />in the rates charged to its jurisdictional customers; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this CoUncil has determined it to be ink,the <br />best interests of the City and the customers of the City's <br />natural gas system to intervene in such rate pzoceedings; now, <br />therefore, be it~ <br /> <br /> RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />that the City Attorney is hereby authorized to initiate the City's <br />intervention in the Pending rate application of Columbia Gas <br />Transmission Corporation, in Federal Ener.gy Regulatory Commission <br />Docket No'. RP-78-, and acting through special consel retained <br />for such purposes to take such actions in such proceedings as he <br />deems advisable to protect the interests of the City therein. <br /> <br /> <br />
