Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. <br /> Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING AND <br /> DISCONTINUING UNOPENED OAK RIDGE STREET IN THE CITY OF <br /> CHARLOTTESVILLE," which was offered at the meeting of the Council <br /> on January 18., 1978, was adopted by the following recorded vote. <br /> Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. <br /> 0 ' Brien. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> A motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Gatewood the ordinance <br /> establishing the Economic Development Group was amended by <br /> changing the membership from eleven to fifteen, by unanimous vote. <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 2 OF THE <br /> CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, BY ADDING AN ARTICLE <br /> XIX CONTAINING SECTIONS 2-126 THROUGH 2-133, ESTABLISHING <br /> <br /> THE CHARLOTTESVILLE DEVELOPMENT GROUP," which was offered at the <br /> meeting of the Council on January 18, 1978, was adopted by the <br /> following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. <br /> Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br /> SECTION 20-32 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, <br /> AS AMENDED, RELATING TO SURVIVOR'S ALLOWANCES," was offered by <br /> Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mr. Barbour and carried over to the <br /> next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> A petition to close a portion of unopened Smith Street was <br />again considered. The City Manager reported that the staff <br />recommends against closing this street. On motion by Mr. <br />Brunton, seconded by Mr. Gatewood the staff recommendation, <br />was adopted by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Brunton, Mr. <br />Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: Mr. Barbour. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING AND <br />DISCONTINUING APPLE STREET IN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE," was <br />offered by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mr. Barbour and carried <br />over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING AND <br />DISCONTINUING AN UNOPENED ALLEY BETWEEN CABELL AVENUE AND TUNLAW <br />PLACE IN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE," was offered by Mr.-Fife, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunton and carried over to the next meeting for <br />consideration. <br /> <br />329 <br /> <br /> <br />
