Absent: None. <br /> <br /> Action on the minutes of February 6, 1978, was deferred until <br /> <br /> the next meeting. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Fife, Mr. Kal Howard and Mr. James Scott were <br />reappointed to the Airport Commission, by unanimous vote. (Mr. <br />Gatewood was absent at this time) <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Barbour the following <br />were appointed to the Committee for Employment of the Handicapped. <br /> <br />Sandra Brockhausen <br />George Helfenstein <br />Bruce Keith <br />Mrs. Jane Parkhill <br />Mrs. H. Payne <br />Mrs. Jean Saunders <br /> Tom Wilder <br /> <br />Ron Enders <br />Tom Holland <br />Charles Lundum <br />Maxwell Patton <br />Dave Russell <br />John Warren <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Fife the following <br />were appointed to the Charlottesville Development Group, by unanimous <br />vote. (Mr. Gatewood was absent at this time) <br /> <br />F. Alton Garrett <br />Jason I. ECkford, Jr. <br />Eric M. Heiner <br />Henry W. Maclin, Jr. <br />J. A. Kessler, Jr. <br />Eugene Williams <br />.Mitchell Van Yahres <br /> <br />Hovey S. Dabney <br />Bernard J. Haggerty <br />Betty C. Scott <br />John W. Fitzwater <br />George R. Ferguson <br />Robert Vickery <br />Charles J. Goetz <br /> <br /> Dennis W. Barnes <br /> <br /> Mr. Marshall Pryor addressed the City Council and advised that <br /> the Annual Dogwood Festival would be held April 11 thru April 23, <br /> 1978. He requested permission for the festival to use Mclntire <br /> Park for the rides, an exemption from the license tax ordinance <br /> and requested the City to donate a trophy for the track meet. On <br /> motion by Mr.Brunton, seconded by Mr. Barbour the foregoing requests, <br /> were approved. <br /> <br /> A communication was presented from the Library Board stating <br /> that funds which have been encumbered in prior years and not <br /> expended were being returned to the jurisdictions from Which they <br /> came. It also stated that there is an anticipated deficit of <br /> $8,974 in the operating budget for 1977-78 and requested an <br /> appropriation from the City in the amount of $2,908 to cover <br /> <br />the City's share of the deficit. Action on this request was <br /> <br />deferred until the next meeting. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mike Gleason addressed the Council and stated that he <br /> <br />had been advised by.,. the State Department that a group from Italy <br />wish to' visit Charlottesville sometime during the month of <br /> <br />April and requested that Council consider reactivating the committee <br />to make the recommendations concerning this visit. On motion <br />by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Fife the foregoing request was <br />approved. <br /> <br /> <br />
