380. Consideration re: Ordinance Planned Unit Development Property at 250 Bypass & Hydraulic Road Consideration re: Ordinance - Rezoning of Property known as~ Lane High School B. Resolved by the Council of the City of Charlottesville: (1) That th~ Mayor be authorized to execute a deed transferring title to certain lots acquired or assigned to the Land Lease Program to th'e Charlottesville Redevelopment and~Housing Authority; (2) That the City Manager be authorized to transfer Community Development Blo6k Grant funds designated for the Land Lease Program to the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority, upon receipt of satisfactory assurance that the Authority will abide by all applicable federal regulations in the expendi~ure of' such funds, in like manne~ as for other such funds of which the Authority zs subgrantee; and (3) That the City Manager and staff be authorized and directed to cooperate with and assist the Authority in all measures necessary for the successful administration of the Land Lease Program. A communication was presented from the Planning Commission recommending that the petition to rezone from R-1 to R-1 Planned Unit Development property located at the northeast quadrant of the intersection of Hydraulic Road and 250 By-pass be approved for the following reasons: 1. It maintains the overall housing unit density as in the R-1 zone; 2. It allows for better use of the property; 3. It is in harmony with the 1990 Lane Use Plan; 4. It protects existing natural environment and resulting development is more in harmony with the existing land contours; 5. The impact of these units on traffic will not be significantly different from a single family development; and 6' The project will result in appropriate amenities for the residents of the area which otherwise would not be provided. An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE ZONING DISTRICT MAP INCORPORATED BY REFERENCE IN SECTION 31'4 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED BY CHANGING TO THE PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT (PUD) ZONING CLASSIFICATION PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF HYDRAULIC ROAD AND THE U. S. ROUTE 250 BYPASS, DESIGNATED AS TAX MAP PARCEL 41-A-l," was offered by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr.Fife and carried over to the next meeting for_consideration. A communication was presented from the Planning Commission recommending that the petition to rezone from R-3 to B-1 property commOnly known as Lane High School be approved for the following reasons: the 1990-Land Hse Plan, 2. the surrounding land use; 1.. An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING THE DISTRICT MAP INCORPORATED IN SECTION 31-4 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976 BY THE REZONING OF A PORTION OF PARCEL 134 ON CITY REAL PROPERTY TAX MAp 35 IN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE," was offered by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Fife and carried over to the next meeting for consideration.
