Consideration re: Appropriation <br />$12,000 -~ Social Services <br /> <br />463 <br /> <br /> On ~!g~oq by Mr. Albro, seconded by Mr. Buck the <br />following resolution 'was offered and carried over to the <br /> <br />next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that the sum of $12,000.00 is hereby <br />appropriated from the Social Services Fund to <br />expenditure account no. 18-11030 to fund the cost of <br />employment Of a volunteer coordinator in the Department <br />of Social Services for the 1978-79 fiscal year; <br />provided that such appropriation shall be Subject to the <br />receipt by such'fund of revenue from the Cormnonwealth of <br />Virginia in a like amount; and be it further <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />$3,355 -- RSVP <br /> <br />Appropriation <br /> <br /> RESOLVED that the sum of $3,000.00 previously <br />appropriated for such program in the Anti Recession <br />Fiscal Assistance Account in the Grants Fund is hereby <br />transferred to the Social Services Fund and reappropriated <br />to expenditure account no. 18-11030 for such purpose. <br /> <br />On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Albro <br /> <br />the following resolution was offered and carried over to <br /> <br />the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />Resolution re: Ch'ville- <br />Albemarle Clean Community <br />Commission <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that the sum of $3,355.00 is hereby <br />appropriated from the Grants Fund to expenditure account <br />11-51070 to be combined with funds previously appropriated <br />for the purchase of a replacement van for the RSVP <br />program; provided that such appropriation is subject to <br />the receipt by the Grants Fund of a like amount in <br />revenue from the federal ACTION program. <br /> <br />On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Gatewood <br /> <br />the following resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the Charlottesville City Council <br />recognizes the existence of a litter problem within the <br />boundaries of the City of Charlottesville; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the Virginia Litter Control Act of <br />1976 provides through the Department of Conservation <br />and Economic Development, Division of Litter Control, <br />for the allocation of public funds in the form of grants <br />for the purpose of promoting enforcement of anti-litter <br />statutes and ordinances and for the purpose of <br />enhancing local litter connrol programs; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS having reviewed and considered the <br />Regulations and the application covering administration <br />and use of said funds <br /> <br />Council: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED that the Charlottesville City <br /> <br /> Hereby endorses and supports such a program <br />for the City of Charlottesville; and <br /> <br /> Hereby expresses the intent to combine with <br />the County of Albemarle in a mutually agreed upon and <br />coordinated program, contingent on approval of the <br />Application by the Department of Conservation and <br />Economic Development, Division of Litter Control, and <br />contingent on receipt of funds; and <br /> <br /> Hereby authorizes the Charlottesville Albemarle <br />Clean Community Commission (CAC3) to plan and budget <br />for a coordinated anti-litter program, which shall <br />represent said program for all localities named in this <br />resolution; and <br /> <br /> Further-au:thorizes the Charlottesville Albemarle <br />Clean Community Commission (CAC~) to apply on behalf of <br />all the above named localities ~or a grant, and to be <br />responsible for the administration, implementation, and <br />completion of the program as it is described in the <br />attached application form LC-G-l; and <br /> <br /> Further accepts responsibility jointly with the <br />Charlottesville Albemarle Clean Community 'Commission <br />(CAC3) and County of Albemarle for all phases of the <br />program; and <br /> <br /> <br />
