DAVlS~ MR. RINEHART~ MR. VAN ~AHRES~ MR. VOGT AND MR, WRIGHT, ABSENT: NONE, <br /> REV. DANIEL R, LowE~ PASTOR OF MOUNT VIEW BAPTIST CHURCH~ GAVE THE INVOCATION. <br /> THE MINUTES OF THE MEETINGS OF AUGUST 19~ 1968~ AUGUST 23~ 1968 AND SEPTEMBER 3~ <br /> <br />1968 WERE READ AND APPROVED. <br /> <br /> MR. VOGT EXPRESSED HIS GRATITUDE TO THE COUNCILMEN FOR THEIR CONFIDENCE IN ELECTING <br /> <br />HiM MAYOR AND PAID TRIBUTE TO THE THREE RETIRING COUNCILMEN, HE ALSO WELCOMED THE NEWLY <br />ELECTED MEMBERS OF COUNCIL~ AND OUTLINED SOME OF THE NEEDS AND CHALLENGES CONFRONTING <br /> <br />THE CITY iN THE IMMEDIATE AND LONG RANGE FUTURE. <br /> <br />MRS, ANNE HAMM ADDRESSED THE COUNCIL AND INQUIRED WHY POLICE OFFICERS ARE NOT ALLOWED <br />TO SIGN PETITIONS, MR. BOWEN ADVISED MRS. HAMM THAT THE CiTY CODE PROHIBITS POLICEMEN <br />FROM TAKING PART IN POLITICAL ACTIVITIES~ AND THAT-THE POLICEMEN AND THE ADMINISTRATION <br /> <br />AGREE THAT THEY SHOULD NOT SIGN PETITIONS. <br /> <br /> A REQUEST FOR REZONING AT 2005 JEFFERSON PARK AVENUE WAS REFERRED TO THE PLANNING <br />COMMISSION FOR RECOMMENDATION. <br /> <br /> A COMMUNICATION WAS PRESENTED FROM FOXBROOK CORPORATION REQUESTING THAT GROVE ROAD <br /> <br />FROM FOXBROOK LANE TO MELBOURNE ROAD BE ACCEPTED INTO THE CiTY STREET SYSTEM FOR <br />MAINTENANCE. A REPORT WAS PRESENTED FROM THE STREET COMMITTEE RECOMMENDING THE ACCEPTANCE, <br />ON MOTION BY MR. WRIGHT~ SECONDED BY MR. DAVIS~ THE FOREGOING RECOMMENDATION WAS UNANIMOUS- <br />LY ADOPTED. <br /> <br /> REPORTS WERE PRESENTED FROM THE PLUMBING AND ELECTRICAL BOARDS CONCERNING THE R~QUEST <br /> <br /> <br />
