11
BE IT RESOLVED
by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that
the sum of $17,167 is hereby permitted to be retained by JAUNT from the budget surplus
of FY 2001 to be used for the above - stated purpose.

PUBLIC

th
Mr. Gaither Pratt, 413 9 Street, N.W., speaking about the Burnet property
rezoning, applauded the developer, but said he feels a couple of simple things could make
the project better. Mr. Pratt said that the yards between the houses are so narrow that it
would be better to make them townhouses. Mr. Pratt said that the City should develop
design guidelines for t hese type projects.

OTHER BUSINESS

Mr. Cox said that he will be sending Council a memorandum suggesting a review
of the board selection process.

Mr. Cox said that he had sent a memorandum to Council suggesting a designated
transit route workshop to be held in November, and asked for feedback.

Mr. Schilling said he has questions about spending money on this at this particular
time.

Mr. Caravati asked where the funding would come from, and Mr. O'Connell said
Council reserve.

Mr. Caravati said he ha s a problem with that.

Mr. Cox said we need to look elsewhere for funding then. Mr. Cox said he saw
the workshop as a continuation of former Mayor Slaughter's neighborhood conferences,
and is asking to continue that venue.

Mr. Caravati said he does no t object to the concept, and suggested that perhaps
funds could be found elsewhere in the budget.

Mr. Schilling noted that Council just gave away $17,000 to JAUNT that could
have been used for this purpose.

The meeting was adjourned.

_________________ ______________ ______________________________
President Clerk
