Minutes of December 18 <br /> <br />nd <br />APPROPRIATION <br />b. : $53,317 - Adoption Services Grant (2 reading) <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED <br /> by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that <br />$53,317 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services be appropriated to 12 - <br />1 61 - 062319 - 50111 in the Social Service Fund for the purpose of funding an adoption - <br />based position for the Department of Social Services. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION <br />c. : $6,288 - Contributions for Very Special Arts Program <br />nd <br /> (2 reading) <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED <br /> by the Counc il of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that <br />$6,288 from the County of Albemarle be appropriated to 05 - 172 - 072116 - 53199 for the <br />“Very Special Arts” program. <br /> <br />The funds in this account at year - end should automatically be carried over as a continuing <br />appropriation to be used in subsequent years. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION <br />d. : $14,776 - Housing Demolition Reimbursement <br />nd <br /> (2 reading) <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED <br /> by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that <br />$14,787.76 from the Piedmont Housing Alliance fo r 3 demolitions be appropriated from <br />26 - 280 - 051677 - 46299 to 26 - 280 - 051677 - 50111 for the purpose of creating a revolving <br />fund to assist in future demolitions. <br /> <br />This appropriation shall be continuing in nature. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION <br />e. : $6,955 - Reimbursements f or Burlington, Vermont Trip <br /> (carried over) <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION <br />f. : $25,000 - Southern Area B Study (carried over) <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION <br />g. : $25,000 - Proceeds from Sale of Voting Machines <br /> (carried over) <br /> <br />ORDINANCE <br />h. : "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING, A ND <br /> DISCONTINUING AN ALLEY, LOCATED IN THE 900 BLOCK OF ANDERSON <br /> STREET BETWEEN ANDERSON STREET AND PAOLI STREET" (carried over) <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br /> There were no matters by the public. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br /> Responding to a question from Mr. Schilling about the upcoming "Future Vision" <br />report by the Mayor, Mr. Cox said he will ask for feedback via e - mail from Councilors <br />prior to the presentation. <br /> <br /> Ms. Richards said that a delegation from the City's sister - city, Long Beach, <br />Washington, will be visiting Charl ottesville for the upcoming Lewis and Clark activities, <br />and Council agreed to hold a reception for the visitors. <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Connell said that Council needs to hold a work session in the near future on <br />the zoning ordinance and needs a follow - up retreat. <br />
