NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY COUNCIL WILL BE HELD ON Tuesday, January 20, 2004 AT 7:00 p.m. IN THE Council Chamber. THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS: Interactive Budget Forum BY ORDER OF THE MAYOR BY Jea nne Cox COUNCIL CHAMBER - January 20, 2004 Council met in special session on this date with the following members present: Mr. Caravati, Mr. Cox, Mr. Lynch, Ms. Richards, Mr. Schilling. Councilors participated in an interactive budget forum. AWARDS/RECOGNITIONS : DISTINGUISHED BUDGET PRESENTATION AWARD Mr. Cox announce d the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award presented by the Government Financial Officers Association. PUBLIC st Ms. Helena Devereaux, 532 North 1 Street, a member of the Historic Preservation Committee of Citizens for Jefferson School, said she has f ollowed the discussions of the Jefferson School Task Force. She said she is excited about some of the ideas, especially that the entire school be nominated for the National Register. Ms. Sue Lewis, 1615 - B Amherst Street, former Planning Commission member , spoke in favor of the Meadowcreek Parkway, and said there are others in the City that favor moving forward with it. She said she thinks it is necessary to relieve traffic on Park Street and to help people get downtown and to other places in the City. C ONSENT AGENDA On motion by Mr. Lynch, seconded by Ms. Richards, the following consent agenda items were approved by the following vote. Minutes of January 5 nd APPROPR IATION b. : $21,697 - All Hazards Planning Grant (2 reading) WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of Emergency Services has awarded the All Hazards Planning Grant (Disaster Planning and Operations Program) to the City of Charlottesville in the amount of $21,697 ; BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that a total of $21,697 is hereby appropriated into account 11 - 260 - 042108 - 50111 in the Grants Fund . nd APPROPRIATION c. : $6,500 - Demolition Fund Reimbursement (2 reading) nd APPR OPRIATION d. : $9,521.22 - Quality Community Council (2 reading)
