NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY COUNCIL WILL BE <br />HELD ON Tuesday, January 20, 2004 AT 7:00 p.m. IN THE Council Chamber. <br /> <br />THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Interactive Budget Forum <br /> <br />BY ORDER OF THE MAYOR BY Jea nne Cox <br /> <br />COUNCIL CHAMBER - January 20, 2004 <br /> <br /> Council met in special session on this date with the following members present: <br />Mr. Caravati, Mr. Cox, Mr. Lynch, Ms. Richards, Mr. Schilling. <br /> <br />Councilors participated in an interactive budget forum. <br /> <br />COUNCI L CHAMBER - January 20, 2004 <br /> <br /> Council met in regular session on this date with the following members present: <br />Mr. Caravati, Mr. Cox, Mr. Lynch, Ms. Richards, Mr. Schilling. <br /> <br />AWARDS/RECOGNITIONS <br />: DISTINGUISHED BUDGET PRESENTATION <br />AWARD <br /> <br /> Mr. Cox announce d the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award presented by <br />the Government Financial Officers Association. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br />st <br /> <br />Ms. Helena Devereaux, 532 North 1 Street, a member of the Historic <br />Preservation Committee of Citizens for Jefferson School, said she has f ollowed the <br />discussions of the Jefferson School Task Force. She said she is excited about some of the <br />ideas, especially that the entire school be nominated for the National Register. <br /> <br /> Ms. Sue Lewis, 1615 - B Amherst Street, former Planning Commission member , <br />spoke in favor of the Meadowcreek Parkway, and said there are others in the City that <br />favor moving forward with it. She said she thinks it is necessary to relieve traffic on Park <br />Street and to help people get downtown and to other places in the City. <br /> <br />C ONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Lynch, seconded by Ms. Richards, the following consent <br />agenda items were approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Caravati, Mr. Cox, Mr. <br />Lynch, Ms. Richards, Mr. Schilling. Noes: None. <br /> <br />a. Minutes of January 5 <br /> <br />nd <br />APPROPR IATION <br />b. : $21,697 - All Hazards Planning Grant (2 reading) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the Virginia Department of Emergency Services has awarded the <br />All Hazards Planning Grant (Disaster Planning and Operations Program) to the City of <br />Charlottesville in the amount of $21,697 ; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED <br /> by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that a <br />total of $21,697 is hereby appropriated into account 11 - 260 - 042108 - 50111 in the Grants <br />Fund . <br /> <br />nd <br />APPROPRIATION <br />c. : $6,500 - Demolition Fund Reimbursement (2 reading) <br /> <br />nd <br />APPR OPRIATION <br />d. : $9,521.22 - Quality Community Council (2 reading) <br />
