NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY COUNCIL WILL BE <br />HELD ON Tuesday, June 22, 2004 AT 7:00 p.m. IN THE Second Floor Conference <br />Room. <br /> <br />THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Closed session as provided by Section 2.2 - 3712 o f the Virginia Code <br /> <br />BY ORDER OF THE MAYOR BY Jeanne Cox <br /> <br />SECOND FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM - June 22, 2004 <br /> <br /> Council met in special session on this date with the following member present: <br />Mr. Caravati, Mr. Cox, Mr. Lynch, Ms. Richards, Mr. Schilling. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Caravati, seconded by Mr. Lynch, Council voted (Ayes: Mr. <br />Caravati, Mr. Cox, Mr. Lynch, Mr. Schilling. Noes: None. Absent for the vote: Ms. <br />Richards) to meet in closed session for discussion, consideration and interviews of <br />prospective candidates for appointment to City boards and commissions as authorized by <br />Section 2.2 - 3711(A)(1) of the Virginia Code. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Caravati, seconded by Mr. Schilling, Council certified by the <br />following vote (Ayes: Mr. Caravati, Mr. Cox, Mr. Lynch , Ms. Richards, Mr. Schilling. <br />Noes: None) that to the best of each Council Member's knowledge, only public business <br />matters lawfully exempted from the open meeting requirements of the Virginia Freedom <br />of Information Act and identified in the motion conv ening the closed session were heard, <br />discussed or considered in the closed session. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS <br />: BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Richards, seconded by Mr. Lynch, Council reappointed Mr. <br />Tim Heaphy to a three - year term on the Charlottesville - A lbemarle Commission on <br />Children and Families by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Caravati, Mr. Cox, Mr. Lynch, <br />Ms. Richards, Mr. Schilling. Noes: None. This term will expire on June 30, 2007. <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Richards, seconded by Mr. Lynch, Mr. Steve Blaine and Ms. <br />Brenda Loving Kotter were reappointed to three - year terms on the Charlottesville <br />Redevelopment and Housing Authority by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Caravati, Mr. <br />Cox, Mr. Lynch, Ms. Richards, Mr. Schilling. Noes: None. These terms wil l expire on <br />June 30, 2007. <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Richards, seconded by Mr. Lynch, Rev. Gardenia E. Beard was <br />appointed to a two year term on the Jefferson Area Board for Aging Board of Directors <br />
