NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY COUNCIL WILL BE <br />HELD ON Monday, June 28, 2004 AT 4:30 p.m. IN THE City Manager's Office and <br />Council Chamber <br /> <br />THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Closed session as provided by Section 2.2 - 3712 of the Virginia Code <br /> (City Manager's Office) <br /> <br /> APPOINTMENTS: Boards and Commissions (Council Chamber) <br /> <br />BY ORDER OF THE MAYOR BY Jeanne Cox <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE - June 28, 2004 <br /> <br /> Council met in special session on this date with the followi ng member present: <br />Mr. Caravati, Mr. Cox, Mr. Lynch, Ms. Richards, Mr. Schilling. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Caravati, seconded by Mr. Lynch, Council voted (Ayes: Mr. <br />Caravati, Mr. Cox, Mr. Lynch, Ms. Richards, Mr. Schilling. Noes: None) to meet in <br />closed se ssion f or discussion and consideration of prospective candidates for <br />appointment to City boards and commissions as authorized by Section 2.2 - 3711(A)(1) of <br />the Virginia Code. <br /> <br />COUNCIL CHAMBER - June 28, 2004 <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Caravati, seconded by Ms. Ric hards, Council certified by the <br />following vote (Ayes: Mr. Caravati, Mr. Cox, Mr. Lynch, Ms. Richards, Mr. Schilling. <br />Noes: None) that to the best of each Council Member's knowledge, only public business <br />matters lawfully exempted from the open meeting re quirements of the Virginia Freedom <br />of Information Act and identified in the motion convening the closed session were heard, <br />discussed or considered in the closed session. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS <br />: BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Richards, seconded by Mr. L ynch, Council reappointed Ms. <br />Julie Gronlund to a three - year term on the School Board by the following vote. Ayes: <br />Mr. Caravati, Mr. Cox, Mr. Lynch, Ms. Richards, Mr. Schilling. Noes: None. This term <br />will expire on June 30, 2007. <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Ri chards, seconded by Mr. Lynch, Council appointed Mr. Ned <br />Michie to a three - year term on the School Board by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. <br />Caravati, Mr. Cox, Mr. Lynch, Ms. Richards. Noes: Mr. Schilling. This term will expire <br />on June 30, 2007. <br />
