W. W. McDOWELL ON BEHALF OF THE QUARLES ESTATE <br /> REQUESTING A CHANGE IN THE ZONING ORDINANCE TO PERMIT COHHERCiAL SWIMHING POOLS IN THE <br /> B-OFFICE SHOP DISTRICT. THIS REQUEST WAS REFERRED TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION FOR <br /> RECOMMENDATION AND A PUBLIC HEARING WAS ORDERED HELD ON THE PROPOSED CHANGE IN THE ZONING <br /> ORDINANCE ON JUlY 17, 1961 AT 7:30 P. M. <br /> <br /> THE UTILITIES COMMITTEE ADVISED THAT THEY HAD HET WiTH MESSRS. HILLER AND HONTAGUE <br /> WITH REFERENCE TO CITY UTILITIES FOR THE FOXBROOK SUBDIVISION LOCATED OUTSIDE THE CITY <br /> LIHITS NORTH OF HclNTIRE PARK AND WITHIN THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION AREA~ AND THAT THEY HAD <br /> ADVISED MESSRS. HILLER AND HONTAGUE THAT THEY WOULD RECOHHEND THAT CITY UTILITIES BE <br /> INSTALLED IN THIS SUBDIVISION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE POLICY APPROVED BY THE COUNCIL <br /> APPLICABLE TO ALL SUBDIVISIONS.WITHIN THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION AREA. THE UTILITIES CONHITTEE <br /> EXPLAINED THAT A'PORTION OF THE ~EWER LINE TO SERVE THIS PROPERTY WOULD BE A HAIN TRUNK LINE <br /> TO SERVE OTHER PROPERTY IN THE ANNEXED AREA AND THAT THE CITY SHOULD PAY THE DIFFERENCE <br /> BETWEEN THE COST OF AN EIGHT INCH AND A TWELVE INCH LINE FOR THAT PORTION OF THE TRUNK LINE <br /> WHICH HAD TO BE LARGER. A COHNUNICATION WAS PRESENTED FROH MESSRS. HILLER AND HONTAGUE <br /> STATING THAT THIS PROPOSAL WAS SATISFACTORY TO THEN. ON HOTION BY'HR. HAGGERTY) SECONDED <br /> BY HR. HOUNT, THE FOREGOINGs AS OUTLINED BY THE UTILITIES COHHITTEE~ WAS UNANIHOUSLY <br /> APPROVED. <br /> <br /> ON HOTIDN BY MR. HAGGERTY) SECONDED BY MR. HOUNT~ THE UTILITIES COMMITTEE WAS INSTRUCTED <br /> NOT TO CONSIDER ANY ADDITIONAL UTILITY LINES EXTENSIONS OUTSIDE THE CORPORATE LIMITS UNDER <br /> THE POLICY ADOPTED BY THECOUNCIL ON DECEHBER ~9s ~960s AND THAT THIS HATTER BE REVIEWED BY <br /> THE COUNCIL. <br /> <br /> THE CITY MANAGER ADVISED THE COUNCIL THAT THE PROPOSED LINE TO EDNAH FOREST SUBDIVISION <br />COULD BE INSTALLED WITH TWELVE INCH PIPE INSTEAD OF THE RROPOSED TEN INCH FOR APPROXIHATELY <br />~s400o00 ADDITIONAL AND RECOHHENDED THAT THE LARGER PIPE BE USED. ON NOTION BY MR. HOUNT, <br />SECONDED BY MR. HAGGERTYs THE FOREGOING RECOHHENDATION WAS UNANIHOUSLY ADOPTED. <br /> <br /> ON HOTION BY HR. HOUNT, SECONDED BY MR. LEE~ THE RATE OF FIVE CENTS PER HOUR AND TEN <br />HOUR LIHIT WA~ SET FOR THE PARKING LOT AT THE OLD FIRE HOUSE SITE. <br /> <br /> THE STREET COHHITTEE WAS REQUESTED TO HAKE A STUDY OF THE TIHE LIHITS ON THE HIGH STREET <br />AND ~ATER STREET PARKING LOTS AND REPORT TO COUNCIL. <br /> <br /> <br />
