THAT THE STREET BE WIDENED AS PER THE ATTACHED PLANs PREPARED
BY THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENTs WHICH WOULD INCREASE THE WIDTH OF THE
PAVED AREA TO ~4 OR MORE FEET AND WOULD REPLACE THE SIDEWALK BETWEEN
HIGH AND HAZEL STREETS ON THE EAST SIDE AND WOULD REPLACE CURB WITH
CURB AND GUTTER IN AREAS WHERE THE PRESENT CURB IS REMOVED EXCEPT
WHERE NEW SIDEWALK IS INSTALLED, THE ESTIMATED COST FOR THIS WORK
WOULD BE ~50~00OoO0. IF THIS PLAN IS NOT APPROVED~ THEN

2, REMOVE ALL PARKING ON BOTH SLOES OF THE STREET BETWEEN TAYLOR
STREET AND THE RT. 250 BYPASS.

YOU WILL RECALL THAT THE TRAFFIC AND PARKING SURVEY WHICH WAS
RECENTLY PREPARED FOR THIS CiTY BY THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENTs
RECOMMENDED THAT ONE OF THE FOREGOING BE DONE IN ORDER TO ACCOMODATE
THE INCREASING VOLUME OF TRAFFIC ON THIS STREET.

IT iS TO BE NOTED THAT THE WIDENING AS PROPOSED UNDER No. I WILL
REQUIRE THE REMOVAL OF SEVERAL TREESs MANY OF WHICH HAVE BEEN TOPPED TO
ACCOMODATE THE POWER LI~Es HOWEVER~ THERE ARE MANY TREES TO THE REAR OF
THE SIDEWALK ON PRIVATE PROPERTY IN TH~S AREA.

~E SUGGEST THAT A DECISION SHOULD BE REACHED BY THE COUNCIL ON THIS
MATTER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED;

STREET COI~41TTEE
B.
