Wo FROM R-2 RESIDENTIAL TO R-3 MULTIPLE DWELLING. A COMMUNICATION <br />WAS PRESENTED FROM THE PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDING THE CHANGE. AN ORDINANCE <br />ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING THE DISTRICT MAP INCORPORATED IN SECTION <br />4 Of ARTICLE III OF APPENDIX II Of THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1965, BY THE <br />REZONING OF THREE PARCELS OF LAND KNOWN AS 510, 511 AND 513 - 15TH STREET~ N. W." WAS <br /> OFFERED BY MR. VOGT, SECONDED BY MR. JOHNSON, AND CARRIED OVER TO THE NEXT REGULAR <br /> MEETING,TO BE HELD ON SEPTEMBER 26~ 1966, FOR CONSIDERATION. <br /> A COMMUNICATION WAS PRESENTED FROM THE CHARLOTTESVILLE TAXICAB OWNER-OPERATORS <br /> REQUESTING AN ADJUSTMENT IN RATES. MR. ARMONDE PAXSON, COUNSEL FOR THE PETITIONERS~ <br /> ADVISED THE COUNCIL THAT THE PRESENT RATES HAVE BEEN tN EFFECT SINCE 1959. A MOTION <br /> BY MR. JOHNSON~ SECONDED BY MR. MOUNT THAT THE HAYOR APPO.IINT A COMMITTEE TO MEET WITH <br /> THE PETITIONERS FOR FURTHER INFORMATION AND REPORT TO COUNCIL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, WAS <br /> UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED. THE MAYOR APPOINTED MR. JOHNSON, MR. MOUNT AND HR. BOWEN TO THIS <br /> COMMITTEE. <br /> <br /> A COMMUNICATION WAS PRESENTED FROM JOHNSON VILLAGE HOMEOWNERS' ASSOCIATION REQUEST- <br /> iNG THAT THE CITY PAVE AND MAINTAIN THE WALKWAY FROM TRAILRIDGE ROAD TO THE SIDEWALK <br /> AT THE BACK OF JOHNSON SCHOOL. THE CITY HANAGER RECOMMENDED THAT A COMMITTEE BE APPOINTED <br /> TO MEET WITH A COMMITTEE FROH THE SCHOOL BOARD TO DISCUSS THIS MATTER SINCE PART OF THE <br /> WALKWAY IS ON SCHOOL PROPERTY. THE MAYOR REFERRED THE MATTER TO THE STREET COMMITTEE. <br /> AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 21-tl ENTITLED <br /> <br /> 'CHARGES FOR GRAVE SPACE AND DIGGING GRAVES' OF CHAPTER 21 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br /> <br /> CHARLOTTESVILLE~ t965," WAS OFFERED BY HR. HAGGERTY~ SECONDED BY MR. JOHNSON~ AND <br /> CARRIED OVER TO THE NEXT MEETING FOR CONSIDERATION. <br /> ON MOTION BY MR. VOGT, SECONDED BY MR. MOUNT, IT WAS UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED THAT <br /> MEMBERS OF THE CHARLOTTESVILLE-ALBEMARLE HINISTERIAL ASSOCATION BE ASKED TO SERVE ON <br /> A ROTATING BASIS TO OPEN EACH REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING WITH AN INVOCATION. <br /> ON MOTION BY HR. MOUNT~ SECONDED BY MR. HAGGERTY, THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS <br /> UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Miss NAN CROW HAS SERVED AS DIRECTOR OF RECREATION IN <br /> <br /> CHARLOTTESVILLE FROM t937 UNTIL HER RETIREMENT SEPTEMBER l, 1966, AND <br /> WHEREAS~ HER SINCERE INTEREST IN~ AND DEVOTION TO, THE WELFARE OF <br /> <br /> THE YOUTH OF THIS CiTY HAS LED TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF PLAY GROUND AREAS IN <br /> EVERY SECTION OF THE CITY THEREBY MAKING IT POSSIBLE FOR THOUSANDS OF OUR <br /> CHILDREN TO ENJOY THE BENEFITS THAT COME FROM PLANNED OUTDOOR RECREATION, AND <br /> WHEREAS, HER LEADERSHIP HAS INSPIRED YOUNG AND OLD ALIKE TO BECOME <br /> <br /> BETTER CITIZENS, <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> CHARLOTTESVILLE THAT THE COUNCIL, IN ITS OWN BEHALF, AND IN BEHALF OF THE <br /> CITIZENS OF THiS COMMUNITY, EXPRESS OUR SINCERE APPRECIATION TO MISS CROW <br /> FOR HER YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY~ AND FOR HER LEADERSHIP AND GUIDANCE <br /> THAT HELPED DEVELOP OUR YOUTH BOTH PHYSICALLY AND SPIRITUALLY, AND <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLYED THAT A COPY OF THiS RESOLUTION BE FORWARDED <br /> <br /> TO MISS CROW WITH THE COUNCILtS BEST WISHES FOR HER FUTURE. <br /> THE CiTY HANAGER ADVISED THE COUNCIL THAT THE BID OF ANDERSON EXCAVATING COMPANY <br /> <br /> <br />
