O'NEILL <br /> <br />WELFARE REPORT <br />PRESENTED <br /> <br /> WILL RECOMMEND TO THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS THAT tT JOiN THE CITY IN FILING AN <br /> APPLICATION WITH THE F. A. A. FOR FUNDS FOR A FIRE AND MAINTENANCE BUILDING <br /> TO COST APPROXIMATELY ~40;000.00. <br /> <br /> ON MOTION BY MR. HAGGERTY, SECONDED BY MR. VOGT~ THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION <br /> <br /> WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED: <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE <br /> <br /> THAT THE CITY MANAGER BE AND HE IS HEREBY INSTRUCTED TO FILE, ON BEHALF <br /> OF THiS CITY AND IN CONJUNCTION WITH ALBEMARLE COUNTY, A REQUEST FOR AID <br /> WITH THE FEDERAL AVIATION AGENCY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A FIRE AND <br /> MAINTENANCE BUILDING AT THE CHARLOTTESVILLE-ALBEMARLE AIRPORT AT A <br /> TOTAL COST OF APPROXIMATELY $40;000.O0. THE COST TO BE DIVIDED FIFTY <br /> PERCENT (50~) FEDERAL, TWENTY-FIVE PERCENT (25~) CITY AND TWENTY-FIVE <br /> PERCENT (25~) COUNTY. <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "ANNUAL TAX LEVY IMPOSING TAXES ON PROPERTY AND <br /> <br /> MACHINERY AND TOOLS FOR THE RAYMENT OF INTEREST AND RETIREMENT ON THE CITY <br /> <br /> DEBT~ FOR THE SUPPORT OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT AND CITY SCHOOLS, AND FOR <br /> <br /> OTHER PURPOSES", WHICH WAS OFFERED AT THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL ON <br /> <br /> APRIL 10~ 1967~ WAS ADOPTED BY THE FOLLOWING RECORDED VOTE: AYES: MR. HAGGERTY~ <br /> <br /> MR. JOHNSON, MR. MOUNT AND MR. VOGT. NOES: NONE. <br /> <br /> A MOTION BY MR. MOUNT, SECONDED BY MR. VOGT; THAT THE COUNCIL GO iNTO <br /> <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSION TO DISCUSS THE EXCHANGE OF SOME CITY OWNED PROPERTY BUT NO <br /> ACTION TO BE TAKEN UNTIL OPEN SESSION IS RESUMED WAS ADOPTED BY THE FOLLOWING <br /> RECORDED VOTE: AYES: MR. HAGGERTY; MR. JOHNSON, MR. MOUNT AND MR. VOGT. NOES: ~ONE. <br /> <br /> THE COUNCIL THOROUGHLY DISCUSSED THE FRANK OINEILL PROPOSAL CONCERNING THE <br /> <br />TRADE OF APPROXIMATELY 3.55 ACRES OF CITY OWNED PROPERTY FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 ACRES <br /> <br /> OF HIS PROPERTY. AFTER THIS DISCUSSION, A MOTION BY MR. VOGT, SECONDED BY MR. MOUNT <br /> <br /> THAT OPEN SESSION BE RESUMED~ WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED. MR. HAGGERTY- STATED THAT <br /> <br /> HE CONSIDERED It IN THE BEST INTEREST Of THE CITY TO ACCEPT MR. O~NEILLIS PROPOSAL. <br /> <br /> MRo VOGT STATED THAT HE CONSIDERED THIS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY FOR THE CITY TO ACQUIRE <br /> <br /> ADDITIONAL ACREAGE AT ~HIS VERY IMPORTANT INTERSECTION. ON MOTION BY MR. HAGGERTY~ <br /> <br /> SECONDED BY MR. MOUNT~ THE MAYOR WAS AUTHORIZED TO EXECUTE DEED CONVEYING APPROXIMATE- <br /> <br />LY 3.55 ACRES OF CiTY OWNED PROPERTY AND DEDICATE A PORTION OF ITS REMAINING <br /> <br />PROPERTY FOR STREET PURPOSES FROM EARHART STREET NORTHWARD ALONG THE EASTERN BOUNDARY <br />OF THE ~o55 ACRES. THIS CONVEYANCE TO BE SUBJECT, HOWEVER~ TO FRANK A. 0INEILL <br /> <br />CONVEYING APPROXIMATELY 10 ACRES Of LAND BETWEEN RT. 29 NORTH AND 250 EAST AND A <br /> <br />RESTRICTIVE CONVENANT ON FIVE LOTS FRONTING ON THE WEST SIDE OF MEADOWBROOK ROAD <br />THAT SUCH LOTS WILL BE USED FOR R-I PURPOSES.
