NOES: NONE, <br /> <br /> THE RESOLUTION APPROPRIATING ~45,000.00 FOR THE CITY'S SHARE OF THE COST OF THE <br />ADDITION TO THE DISTRICT HOME~ WHICH WAS OFFERED AT THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL ON <br />AUGUST 7~ 1967~ WAS ADOPTED BY THE FOLLOWING RECORDED VOTE: AYES: MR. HAGGERTY, MR. <br />MOUNT~ MR. RENNOLDS AND MR. VOGT. NOES: NONE. <br /> A REQUEST TO ACCEPT BEECH~OOD DRIVE AND THE REMAINING PORTION OF GLENDALE ROAD <br /> <br /> INTO THE CITY STREET SYSTEM WAS REFERRED TO THE STREET COMMITTEE FOR RECOMMENDATION. <br /> THE CITY MANAGER PRESENTED AND EXPLAINED FORM NO. H U D-1082~ AND ATTACHMENTS~ <br /> <br /> FOR RECERTIFICATION OF THE CITY1S WORKABLE PROGRAM, FOR CONSIDERATION~ AND RECOMMENDED <br /> THAT IT BE APPROVED7 AND THAT THE MAYOR BE AUTHORIZED TO EXECUTE THE FORM ON BEHALF OF <br /> THE CITY. ON MOTION BY MR. HAGGERTY, SECONDED BY MR. MOUNT, THE MAYOR WAS AUTHORIZED <br /> TO EXECUTE FORM NO. H. U. D-1082 ON BEHALF OF THE CITY~ AND THE CITY MANAGER WAS <br /> INSTRUCTED TO FORWARD THIS FORM AND ATTACHMENTS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN <br /> DEVELOPMENT~ REGION 2. <br /> A COMMUNICATION WAS PRESENTED FROM THE SCHOOL BOARD REQUESTING THAT A MEMBER OF <br /> COUNCIL BE APPOINTED TO SERVE ON THE SCHOOL S~TE SURVEY COMMITTEE. THE MAYOR APPOINTED <br /> MR. HAGGERTY TO THIS COMMITTEE, <br /> A COMMUNICATION WAS PRESENTED FROM THE SCHOOL BOARD REQUESTING THE COUNCIL TO <br /> PROVIDE FUNDS FOR ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES OF A PRELIMINARY NATURE LEADING TO A <br /> RELATIVELY FIRM COST ESTIMATE FOR NEW HIGH SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION~ LANE HIGH SCHOOL <br /> RENOVATION AND RENOVATION TO EXISTING ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS. AFTER A LENGTHY DISCUSSION~ <br /> A MOTION BY MR, MOUNT~ SECONDED BY MR. HAGGERTY~ THAT THE SCHOOL BOARD BE AUTHORIZED <br /> TO EMPLOY ARCHITECTS AS REQUESTED WAS DEFEATED BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: AYES: MR, MOUNT <br /> AND MR. RENNOLDS. NOES: MR. HAGG~RTY AND MR. VOGT. <br /> A MOTION BY MR. VOGT, SECONDED BY MR'. HAGGERTY, THAT THE SCHOOL BOARD BE REQUESTED <br /> TO RESUBMIT TS REQUEST~ REQUESTING FUNDS OF A SPECIFIC LIMIT FOR ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES <br /> WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED. <br /> <br /> FOR THE PURPOSE OF INFORMING THE PUBLIC,THE MAYOR STATED THAT RECENTLY HE HAD A <br /> MEETING WITH CERTAIN NEGRO LEADERS AT WHICH A LIST OF PROPOSALS WAS MADE BY THEM. <br /> SEVERAL OF THE MATTERS WERE OUTSIDE THE dURISDICTION OF CITY COUNCIL~ AND HE HAD THE <br /> CLERK READ AN OPINION FROM THE CITY ATTORNEY THAT SUCH MATTERS WERE OUTSIDE THE COUNCILIS <br /> CONTROL7 TOGETHER WITH LETTERS THAT HE HAD MAILED TO THE GOVERNOR~ CITY TREASURER~ <br /> COMMISSIONER OF REVENUE AND CITY SERGEANT~ WHICH LETTERS ARE FILED AS PART OF THE MINUTES <br /> OF THIS MEETING.
