NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />A SPECIAL MEETING WILL BE HELD ON Tuesday, July 6, 2004 AT 6:00 p.m. IN <br />THE Second Floor Conference Room. <br /> <br />THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Closed session as provided by Section 2.2-3712 of the Virginia Code <br /> <br />BY ORDER OF THE MAYOR <br /> <br />BY Jeanne Cox <br /> <br />SECOND FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM - July 6, 2004 <br /> <br /> Council met in special session on this date with the following members present: <br />Dr. Brown, Mr. Caravati, Ms. Hamilton, Mr. Lynch, Mr. Schilling. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Lynch, seconded by Mr. Caravati, Council voted (Ayes: Dr. <br />Brown, Mr. Caravati, Ms. Hamilton, Mr. Lynch, Mr. Schilling. Noes: None.) to meet in <br />closed session for discussion and consideration of prospective candidates for appointment <br />to City boards and commissions as provided by Section 2.1-371 i(A)(1) of the Virginia <br />Code; for discussion and consideration of the acquisition of real properties located on <br />High Street and adjacent to the proposed Juvenile Court parking garage for a public <br />purpose, where discussion in an open meeting would adversely affect the negotiating <br />strategy of the City, as authorized by Section 2.2-371 l(A)(3) of the Virginia Code; and <br />for discussion and consideration of the disposition of publicly held real property located <br />in Riverview park, where discussion in an open meeting would adversely affect the <br />negotiating strategy of the City, as authorized by Section 2.2-3711 (A)(3) of the Virginia <br />Code. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Schilling, seconded by Mr. Caravati, Council certified by the <br />following vote (Ayes: Dr. Brown, Mr. Caravati, Ms. Hamilton, Mr. Lynch, Mr. <br />Schilling. Noes: None) that to the best of each Council Member's knowledge, only <br />public business matters lawfully exempted from the open meeting requirements of the <br />Virginia Freedom of Information Act and identified in the motion convening the closed <br />session were heard, discussed or considered in the closed session. <br /> <br />COUNCIL CHAMBER - July 6, 2004 <br /> <br /> Council met in regular session on this date with the following members present: <br />Dr. Brown, Mr. Caravati, Ms. Hamilton, Mr. Lynch, Mr. Schilling. <br /> <br /> Dr. Brown announced that the ordinance authorizing the sale of right of way at <br />Monticello and Druid has been deferred, and a request by the Council Elections Study <br />Task Force to extend their reporting deadline has been added to the agenda. <br /> <br />AWARDS/RECOGNITIONS: CHS SOCCER TEAM; OUTGOING SCHOOL <br />BOARD MEMBER <br /> <br /> Dr. Brown read a proclamation recognizing the Charlottesville High School <br />Soccer team for becoming State champions. <br /> <br /> Dr. Brown read a proclamation recognizing outgoing School Board member <br />Linda Bowen. <br /> <br /> <br />
