NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY COUNCIL WILL BE <br />HELD ON Tuesday, May 10, 2005 AT 6:30 p.m. IN THE Second Floor Conference <br />Room. <br /> <br />THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Closed session as provided by Section 2.2-3712 of the Virginia Code <br />CHARGE AND APPOINTMENTS: Charlottesville Schools Advisory <br />Commission <br /> <br />BY ORDER OF THE MAYOR <br /> <br />BY Jeanne Cox <br /> <br />SECOND FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM - May 10, 2005 <br /> <br /> Council met in special session on this date with the following members present: <br />Dr. Brown, Mr. Caravati, Ms. Hamilton, Mr. Lynch. Absent: Mr. Schilling. <br /> <br /> Dr. Brown emphasized that the Schools Advisory Commission will report to the <br />School Board and the School Board asked that Council make the appointments. He said <br />he thinks it will be a meaningful committee. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Caravati, seconded by Mr. Lynch, Council voted (Ayes: Dr. <br />Brown, Mr. Caravati, Mr. Lynch. Noes: None. Absent for the vote: Ms. Hamilton. <br />Absent: Mr. Schilling) to meet in closed session for discussion and consideration of <br />appointments to the Charlottesville Schools Advisory Commission as authorized by <br />Section 2.2-371 i(A)(1) of the Virginia Code. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Caravati, seconded by Ms. Hamilton, Council certified by the <br />following vote (Ayes: Dr. Brown, Mr. Caravati, Ms. Hamilton, Mr. Lynch. Noes: None. <br />Absent: Mr. Schilling) that to the best of each Council Member's knowledge, only public <br />business matters lawfully exempted from the open meeting requirements of the Virginia <br />Freedom of Information Act and identified in the motion convening the closed session <br />were heard, discussed or considered in the closed session. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />President Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
