13 <br /> <br /> Dr. Brown asked that Council consider endorsing the final paragraph of the <br />resolution requested by Mr. Deily supporting a rail system. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Caravati, seconded by Ms. Hamilton, the resolution supporting <br />a rail system was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Dr. Brown, Mr. Caravati, Ms. <br />Hamilton, Mr. Lynch, Mr. Schilling. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED that the Charlottesville City Council does hereby call on its <br />Senators and Representatives in Congress to support continued federal funding of <br />AMTRAK and efforts to promote and enhance rail transportation in the Commonwealth <br />and the nation. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS: BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Lynch, seconded by Mr. Caravati, the following were <br />appointed to the Charlottesville Schools Advisory Commission by the following vote <br />(Ayes: Dr. Brown, Mr. Caravati, Ms. Hamilton, Mr. Lynch. Noes: None. Abstaining: <br />Mr. Schilling): Gary O'Connell (ex-officio), Eileen Akers, Craig Barton, Maureen <br />Burkhill, Michael Gallahue, Faye Giglio, Timothy Hulbert, Mary Reese, and Rauzelle <br />Smith. <br /> <br /> Dr. Brown noted that Mr. Schilling chose not to be a part of the closed session <br />discussion on the Advisory Commission. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Caravati, seconded by Mr. Lynch, Ms. Joy Johnson was <br />appointed to an unexpired term on the Monticello Area Community Action Agency <br />Board by the following vote. Ayes: Dr. Brown, Mr. Caravati, Ms. Hamilton, Mr. Lynch, <br />Mr. Schilling. Noes: None. This term will expire on July 1, 2006. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />President Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
