APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />$50,000 - Summer Food Service Program Grant <br />(2nd reading) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Charlottesville Department of Parks and Recreation has <br />received a U.S. Department of Agriculture - Summer Food Service Program Grant in the <br />amount of $50,000; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia that the sum of $50,000 received as a grant from the U.S. <br />Department of Agriculture is hereby appropriated into account 11-172-062028-50111 for <br />the purpose of funding the Summer Lunch program in 2005. <br /> <br />f. APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />$400,000 - Transit Improvements (State Funds) <br />(2nd reading) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of Transportation has allocated Urban <br />Road funding in the amount of $400,000 for transit programs to the City of <br />Charlottesville; now, therefore <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that <br />the sum of $400,000 received from the Virginia Department of Transportation, is hereby <br />appropriated to account 11-270-041186-50111 in the Grants Fund <br /> <br />g. APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />$68,522 - Donation for Enhanced Police Coverage at <br />Friendship Court (carried over) <br /> <br />h. APPROPRIATION: $4,435 - Grant for Victim Witness Program (carried over) <br /> <br />i. RESOLUTION: <br /> <br />Authorizing Permit Parking for Park Lane East <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, residents of Park Lane East have requested that City Council <br />designate that street as a restricted parking block; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with City Code Section 15-201, et seq., the City <br />Traffic Engineer has conducted on street parking surveys and mailed notice to all <br />residents of the affected area that Council will consider designating such area as a <br />restricted parking block; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the surveys have shown that at least 75% of the total number of on <br />street parking spaces in the proposed restricted parking block were occupied, and at least <br />50% of the total number of on street parking spaces in that block were occupied by <br />commuter vehicles; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Council has considered: <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />the purpose and intent of the permit parking ordinance and <br />regulations; <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />the alternate means of transportation, if any, to and from <br />the restricted parking blocks being established; <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />the adverse impact that restricting parking in such blocks <br />might have on nearby neighborhoods that do not have <br />permit parking; <br /> <br />(d) <br /> <br />the adverse impact that such restrictions may have on the <br />non-residents of the proposed restricted parking block and <br />their ability to find available parking near their place of <br />work; and <br /> <br /> <br />
