4O7 <br /> <br /> Mr. Albert Brown said this is daughter is in a handicapped class with four others <br />in wheelchairs and the room is too small and the floors are too hard. <br /> <br /> Mr. Robert Thompson, Acting Superintendent, said he has arranged for Mr. <br />Brown to visit Post High and see if that suits his daughter's needs. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Brown said the School Board need to be aware of special education needs <br />and teachers need to be more involved with health issues. <br /> <br /> Mr. Thompson reviewed Advanced Placement test and SAT results. He said that <br />more Advanced Placement courses are being offered at Charlottesville High School than <br />at any of the surrounding high schools. He said 88% of those tests got a score of 3 or <br />higher. He said SAT scores averaged 1100, well above the state and national averages. <br /> <br /> Ms. Van Yahres said the number of dual enrollment courses at Piedmont Virginia <br />Community College has also increased. <br /> <br /> Ms. Hamilton noted that the number of students in Advanced Placement classes <br />has almost doubled. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />President Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
