DAYIS, THE <br />MDNTICELLD GUARD CLUB WAS DECLARED A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION UNDER SECTION $5(D) <br />OF THE LICENSE TAX ORDINANCE FOR THE LICENSE YEARS OF 1953 AND 1954 BY UNANIMOUS <br />VOTE. <br />DOOR TO DOOR ON APRIL 12TH AND 13TH, AND THAT THE LICENSE TAX BE WAIVED ON THIS <br />SALE. P. HARRIS APPEARED BEFORE THE COUNCIL WITH REFERENCE TO HIS PETITION <br />REQUEST RE: 6" WAT€R <br />LINE FROM ST• ANNE RD. <br />ALONG GROVE RD. <br />TO RUN A 6" WATER LINE FROM ST• ANNE ROAD ALONG GROVE ROAD TO A POINT OF <br />INTERSECTION WITH PROPOSED KENWOOD LANE THENCE ALONG (CENWDDD LANE A DISTANCE <br />OF 1500 FEET. THE UTILITIES COMMITTEE REPORTED THAT THEY MERE WILLING TO <br />RECOMMEND THAT MR• HARRIS BE PERMITTED TO RUN THE PROPOSED LINE PROVIDED HE <br />EXECUTED THE USUAL COUNTY CONTRACT. HOWEVER, THEY HAD BEEN ADVISED BY MR. <br />HARRIS THAT HE WAS NOT WILLING TO COMPLY WITH THE TERMS CONTAINEp IN THE <br />CITY~5 COUNTY WATER CONTRACT5, AND THAT THEY DID NOT BELIEVE AN EXCEPTION <br />SHOULD 8E MADE IN THIS INSTANCE. MR. HARRIS ADDRESSED THE COUNCIL AND <br />REQUESTED THAT AN EXCEPTION 8E GRANTED SINCE HE FELT THAT IT WAS UNFAIR FOR <br />PEOPLE BEYOND HIS SUB-DIVISION TO BE ALLOWED TO TAP ON TO A LINE WHICH HE <br />INSTALLED.
