20' <br />BUILDINGS WERE CONSTRUCTED AND HE FELT THE BUILDINGS WERE TOO NEW TO REMOVE <br />THE TANKS AT THIS TIME. A MOTION BY MR. WEINBERG SECONDED BY MR. HILL THAT <br />THIS REQUEST BE GRANTED WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED. <br />REV. A. C. BECKER ADDRESSED THE COUNCIL AND REQUESTED PERMISSION TO USE A <br />REQUEST TO USE RECORD PLAYER <br />GRANTED RECORD PLAYER IN THE TRUNK OF AN AUTOMOBILE FOR CAROLING DURING THE CHRISTMAS <br />SEASON. ON MOTION BY MR. WEINBERG SECONDED BY MR. MICHIE~ THIS REQUEST WAS <br />UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED. <br />A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO SECTION 23 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE WAS PRESENTED <br />AMENDMENT TO ZONING ORD. AND ON MOTION BY MR. MICHIE~ SECONDED BY MR. HILLS WAS REFERRED TO THE <br />REFERRED TO PLANNING COMM. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION FOR STUDY AND RECOMMENDATIONS AND JANUARY 7, 1957 AT <br />2:00 P. M. WAS SET AS THE DATE AND TIME OF A PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS PROPOSAL. <br />_ ON MOTION BY MR. HILLS SECONDED BY MR. MICHIE~ THE FOLLOWING REPORT OF <br />THE STREET COMMITTEE WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED: <br />NOVEMBER 30, 1956 <br />TO THE MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL <br />CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE VIRGINIA <br />STREET COMMITTEE. REPORT RE: GENTLEMEN' <br />STONEFIELD LANE <br />WE HAVE EXAMINED STONEFIELD LANES BETWEEN MASON LANE AND <br />RUGBY AVENUES AND RECOMMEND THAT THE STREET BE ACCEPTED INTO <br />THE CITY STREET SYSTEM PROVIDED- <br />1. THAT THE ENTIRE THIRTY-FIVE (35') FEET OF RIGHT OF <br />WAY BE CLEARED AND GRADED. <br />2. THAT A PAVEMENT TWENTY-FIVE (25') FEET WIDE BE <br />CONSTRUCTED. <br />3. THAT THE PROPERTY OWNERS EXECUTE WATER AND GRADE <br />DAMAGE RELEASES. <br />4. DEDICATE ADDITIONAL RIGHT OF WAY ON THE SOUTHWEST SIDE <br />AS SHOWN ON PLAT PREPARED BY THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT <br />SO AS TO MAKE POSSIBLE THE CONSTRUCTION OF A 3O FT. <br />PAVEMENT. <br />2. THAT THE RATES BE CHANGED TO READ: 50¢ FOR THE FIRST 1-1~3 MILE OR <br />FRACTION THEREOF 1O¢ FOR EACH ADDITIONAL 1~3 MILE OR FRACTION THEREOF <br />AND THAT NO CHANGE BE MADE IN THE PRICE FOR WAITING TIME. <br />2. THAT TAXI METERS BE OPERATED AT ALL TIMES iN THE CITY WHEN ANY PERSON <br />IS RIDING IN THE CAB OTHER THAN THE DRIVER. <br />
