122 <br />IT APPEARING <br /> to this Council that the proposed compromise is in the best <br />interests of the City, and that the compromise is at the request of a former employee, who <br />is represented by counsel; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED <br /> by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia, that the proposed compromise of the City’s statutory lien is <br />approved, and the City’s Director of Finance is hereby authorized, on behalf of this City <br />Council, to execute any documents necessary to effectuate the compromise and to obtain <br />a recovery of amounts due to the City under the approved settlement. This approval is <br />conditioned upon formal approval of the settlement by the Workers’ Compensation <br />Commission. <br /> <br /> Mr. O’Connell said that staff believe that the Juvenile and Domestic Relations <br />Court has been stabilized following the collapse of a wall during renovations, but he is <br />not sure what the next step will be. <br /> <br /> Mr. O’Connell said that the new 800 MHz system began smoothly. <br /> <br /> Mr. O’Connell said that staff is proposing to do a pilot with two biodiesel vehicles <br />and they will be evaluated in the next year. <br /> <br /> The meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />_____________________________ ____________________________ <br />President Clerk <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
