Noes: Mr. Caravati and <br />Mr. Schilling. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED <br /> by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that <br />this Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to sign the following document, in form <br />approved by the City Attorney: <br /> <br />Agreement for Purchase and Sale of Property between the City of <br />Charlottesville (“City”) and Sandollar, Ltd., for purchase of real <br />property at 407 East High Street. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Mr. Kenneth Moore, Highland Avenue, said he was disappointed at the efficiency <br />and oversight by Council concerning the discussion at the last meeting about the Melting <br />Pot sign. He said it scares off potential business owners. He said he would like to see a <br />more efficient process in order to get more business in the City. <br /> <br /> Ms. Naomi Roberts said she does not mean to give democrats a hard time. She <br />said she votes for the person not necessarily the party. She said she was concerned with <br />the previous Council election where vans brought in people to vote, and she questioned if <br />they knew what they were there for. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br /> Mr. O’Connell said that the water supply alternative of raising the Ragged <br />Mountain reservoir was approved by the Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority. <br /> <br />rd <br /> Mr. O’Connell said the July 3 agenda will likely include two transit issues due to <br />the State budget. <br /> <br /> Mr. Caravati urged Council to appoint a member to the Retirement Commission <br />as soon as possible. <br /> <br /> The meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />______________________________ ____________________________ <br />President Clerk <br /> <br />
