HAGGERTY~ THE FOREGOING REPORT WAS <br />UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED. <br />THE FOLLOWING REPORT OF THE STREET COMMITTEE WAS PRESENTED: <br />DECEMBER 1, 1960 <br />TO THE MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL <br />CITY OF CHARIOTTESVILIE~ VIRGINIA <br />GENTLEMEN: <br />YOUR STREET COMMITTEE HAS INVESTIGATED THE PETITION <br />IN REGARD TO THE 1100 BLOCK OF WARE STREET AND REPORT AS <br />STREET COMMITTEE REPORT FOLLOWS. <br />RE: WARE STREET <br />THIS SECTION OF WARE STREET CONNECTS ELLIOTT AVENUE <br />AND ROBINSON PLACE AND THERE ARE THREE HOUSES WHICH FACE ON <br />THIS STREET. THE STREET HAS NOT BEEN GRADED OR STONED IN <br />ACCORDANCE WITH THE CITY~S REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCEPTANCE. <br />WE RECOMMEND THAT IF THE PROPERTY OWNERS WILL <br />CONTRIBUTE $600.00 TOWARDS THE COST OF GRADING AND STONING <br />THIS STREETS THAT THE CITY CONSTRUCT THE STREET TO A PAVED <br />WIDTH OF 2O FEET AND THEN ACCEPT IT INTO THE STREET SYSTEM <br />FOR MAINTENANCE. <br />RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED <br />STREET COMMITTEE <br />R. MOUNTS THE FOREGOING REPORT WAS <br />UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED. <br />THE FOLLOWING REPORT WAS PRESENTED: <br />DECEMBER 1, 1960 <br />MEMBERS OF CITY COUNCIL <br />GENTLEMEN: <br />YOUR COMMITTEES APPOINTED TO INTERVIEW ARCHITECTS FOR THE PLANNING <br />OF CITY BUILDINGS HAS MET AND HELD INTERVIEWS WITH REPRESENTATIVES <br />FROM THREE LOCAL ARCHITECTURAL OFFICES. <br />COMMITTEE REPORT RE: <br />ARCHITECTS FOR PLANNING IT IS THE RECOMMENDATION OF THIS COMMITTEE THAT THE CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY BUILDINGS GIVE AUTHORIZATION TO THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO ACCEPTABLE <br />CONTRACT AGREEMENTS WITH THE FOLLOWING ARCHITECTURAL FIRMS FOR THE <br />PROJECTS NAMED: <br />JOHNSON CRAVEN AND GIBBON FOR THE COURT HOUSE AND <br />CLERKS OFFICE. <br />MR. MILTON L. GRIGG FOR THE FIREHOUSE SUB-STATION. <br />THE COMMITTEE WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST THAT COUNCIL ESTABLISH A SUB- <br />COMMITTEE TO WORK WITH THESE ARCHITECTURAL FIRMS DURING THE <br />PLANNING AND ERECTION STAGES OF THESE TWO PROJECTS. <br />RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED <br />R.
