13 <br />consideration by the General Assembly in the 2008 session or thereafter, to the extent <br />necessary to meet the December 31, 2010 point source deadline and subsequently <br />maintain the point source nutrient load cap. <br /> <br /> Mr. Huja made a motion that the Tibetan flag be flown on March 10 in honor of <br />Tibetan National Uprising Day, Mr. Taliaferro seconded the motion, and it was approved <br />by the following vote. Ayes: Dr. Brown, Ms. Edwards, Mr. Huja, Mr. Norris, Mr. <br />Taliaferro. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bill Watterson, Transit Manager, presented recommendations for <br />modifications to certain transit routes, including an intermediate solution for Rt. 4a. <br /> <br /> It was the sense of the Council to try the modifications suggested, and Mr. <br />th <br />Watterson said they will take place on March 24. <br /> <br /> Mr. Taliaferro said he is a member of the Charlottesville Community Scholarship <br />Fund Board, and he asked if Council would agreement to donate $25,000 toward the <br />Fund. He said Council had previously provided $250,000 and $170,000 has been raised <br />by the Board. He said the purpose is to give scholarships to City students, and noted that <br />between three and six scholarships have been given each year. <br /> <br /> Mr. Norris asked why the Board is looking for more funding, and Mr. Taliaferro <br />said they are just trying to increase their total. <br /> <br /> Responding to a question from Dr. Brown, Mr. O’Connell said $38,000 remains <br />in Council reserve. <br /> <br /> Dr. Brown asked if it could be set up as a match for additional private funds <br />raised, and Mr. Taliaferro said yes, between now and the end of the year. <br /> <br /> It was agreed that the resolution authorizing the funds would be placed on the <br />next agenda. <br /> <br /> Mr. O’Connell proposed a work session on downtown and Martha Jefferson <br />Hospital to be held in February, and it was agreed that a date would be found. <br /> <br /> The meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />______________________________ _____________________________ <br />President Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
