5 <br />APPROPRIATION <br />e. : $5,750 – Boys and Girls Club Reimbursement <br /> (carried over) <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION <br />f. : $11,000 – Police Department Foundation Grant <br /> (carried over) <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION <br />g. : $9,500 – Fire Programs Grant (carried over) <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION <br />h. : $5,000 – Arts Challenge Grant (carried over) <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION <br />i. : $88,522 – Donation for Enhanced Police Coverage <br /> (carried over) <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION <br />j. : $182,500 – Adult Drug Treatment Court Grant <br /> (carried over) <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION <br />k. : $328,280 – Safe Route to School Grant (carried over) <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br />l. : Authorizing Safe Route to School Grant <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> , the Department of Transportation has initiated a Safe Routes to <br />School program to enable and encourage children to walk and bicycle to school safely; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> , the City of Charlottesville intends to provide safe pedestrian <br />facilities, especially along and across major streets and near schools and recreation <br />facilities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> , Burnley-Moran Elementary School has a Safe Routes to School <br />program in place; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> , this program requires no local match money; now, therefore, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED <br /> by the Council for the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia that this Council hereby authorizes the City Manager, or his <br />designee, to enter into an agreement with the Virginia Department of Transportation to <br />support the approved SRTS grant application for Burnley-Moran Elementary School. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED <br /> that the City of Charlottesville accepts the <br />responsibility of maintenance of the proposed infrastructure in perpetuity. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br />m. : Authorizing Transfer of Funds from Council Reserve for <br /> African-American Festival <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> , the African American Cultural Arts Festival/Chihamba has <br />requested additional funds from City Council for the 2008 festival to be held on July 26, <br />2008 by waiving City related expenses; <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br />, the African American Cultural Arts Festival/Chihamba has <br />requested that City Council waive the City fees charged for the 2007 festival; <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> , the additional funds will be paid from already appropriated funds in <br />the Council Reserve account (1011001000) and the festival contribution account <br />(9753005000) in the General Fund; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED <br /> by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia, that actual City costs relating to the 2008 African American <br />Cultural Arts Festival, which are currently estimated to be $5,227.00, are hereby <br />authorized to be paid from currently appropriated funds in the Council Reserve account <br />in the amount of $2,227.00 and the festival contribution account in the amount of $3,000 <br />in the General Fund; <br /> <br /> <br />
