<br />NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY COUNCIL WILL BE <br />HELD ON Wednesday, August 6, 2008 AT 4:00 p.m. IN THE Basement Conference <br />Room. <br /> <br />THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Closed session as provided by Section 2.2-3712 of the Virginia Code <br /> <br /> Interviews: Planning Commission (interviews will be open to the public for <br /> observation only) <br /> <br />BY ORDER OF THE MAYOR BY Jeanne Cox <br /> <br />BASEMENT CONFERENCE ROOM – August 6, 2008 <br /> <br /> Council met in special session on this date with the following members present: <br />Dr. Brown, Ms. Edwards, Mr. Huja, Mr. Norris. Absent: Mr. Taliaferro. <br /> <br /> Council interviewed the following applicants for the Planning Commission: <br />George Benford, Frank Fountain, Nathan Holland, and Richard R. Poelling. <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Huja, Council voted (Ayes: Dr. <br />Brown, Ms. Edwards, Mr. Huja, Mr. Norris. Noes: None. Absent: Mr. Taliaferro) to <br />meet in closed session for discussion and consideration of prospective candidates for <br />appointment to the City Planning Commission, as authorized by Section 2.2-3711(A)(1) <br />of the Virginia Code. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Norris, seconded by Ms. Edwards, Council certified by the <br />following vote (Ayes: Dr. Brown, Ms. Edwards, Mr. Huja, Mr. Norris. Noes: None. <br />Absent: Mr. Taliaferro. that to the best of each Council Member's knowledge, only <br />public business matters lawfully exempted from the open meeting requirements of the <br />Virginia Freedom of Information Act and identified in the motion convening the closed <br />session were heard, discussed or considered in the closed session. <br /> <br /> The meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />_______________________________ ______________________________ <br />President Clerk <br />
