He said a conservative estimate to complete the work is $15,000 to $20,000. He
said that the new Onesty pool will open this summer, the Smith Aquatic Center is being
constructed, and bids are due for the Forrest Hills Park. He said another factor in the
decision to close the wading pool is the proximity to the 250 Bypass interchange when it
is built. He said that given all of these factors, staff felt it was not the best use of
resources to spend the money on the wading pool. He said that if Council wants to keep
the wading pool open, he can seek quotes for the work.

Mr. Taliaferro said he understands that the fee at the wading pool for City
residents is $1 and $2 for non-City residents, and asked what the fee will be at Onesty.

Mr. Daly said the fee for residents above 48” will be $5, for 48” and below it will
be $3, and it will be free for children under three.

Ms. Edwards asked if there have been any drain related injuries in the City, and
Mr. Daly said no.
